Does God Still Speak To Us? A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?' After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God... If you still speak to people speak to me, I will listen. I will do my best to obey.' As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallo...

Too many times, we do things we didnt plan. Some call it impulse, some call it intuition while some call it a coincidence. Whatever we may call it, there is certainly the hand of Him in that.

My name is Nick Vujicic and I give God the Glory for how He has used my testimony to touch thousands of hearts around the world! I was born without limbs and doctors have no medical explanation for this birth 'defect'. As you can imagine, I was faced with many challenges and obstacles. 'Consider it pure joy, my Brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.' ....To count our hurt, pain and struggle as nothing but pure joy? As my parents were Christians, and my Dad even a Pastor of our church, they knew that verse very well. However, on the morning of the 4th of December 1982 in Melbourne (Australia), the last two words on the minds of my parents was 'Praise God!'. Their firstborn son h...

A young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was scared to death, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a holdon the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda’s eye and knocked out her contact lens. Well, here she is on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn’t there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to g...

A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench , head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.” He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand...

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: 'AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!' To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: 'AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!' Curious, he yells: 'Who are you?' He receives the answer: 'Who are you?' And then he screams to the mountain: 'I admire you!' The voice answers: 'I admire you!' Angered at the response, he screams: 'Coward!' He receives the answer: 'Coward!' He looks to his father and asks: 'What's going on?' The father smiles and says: 'My son, pay attention.' Again the man screams: 'You are a champion!' The voice answers: 'You are a champion!' The boy is surprised, but does not understand. T...

A truck driver was doing his usual load delivery at a mental hospital, by parking his vehicle beside an open drain. He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to return from the mental hospital. He jacked up the truck and removed the flat tyre to fix the spare tyre. When he was about to fix the spare tyre, he accidentally dropped all the 4 bolts in the open drain. As he could not fish the bolts in the open drain, he started to panic as to what should be done? Just then, a patient happened to walk past him and asked the driver as to why he was looking troubled. The driver thought to himself, since there is nothing much he can do or this mental joker can. Just to keep the bugging away, the t...

During the golden Abbasid period, one of the scholars in Baghdad, the capital of Muslim caliphate at that time, was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great scholar and said, 'Do you know what I just heard about your friend?' 'Hold on a minute,' the scholar replied. 'Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test.' 'Triple filter?' 'That's right,' the scholar continued. 'Before you talk to me about my friend it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are...

Most Important Question During my second month of nursing school, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: 'What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?' Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. Absolutely, said the professor. 'In your careers you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even ...

Planting a tree might be fun but when it turns out to be a business venture, it is something worth reading about. More so, as the tree proves to be an alternative source of edible oil or Vanaspati Ghee. The tree known as Phulwara or Chyur in local language is also popularly known as the Indian Butter Tree. Scientifically known as Aisendra buttyracea, the wonder tree produces oil seeds, which are rich in oil content and has the potency of hydrogenated oil or Vanaspati Ghee. Interestingly, it is used as a substitute of ghee in many parts of Nepal, Kumaon and the tribal areas of Chakrauta hills in Uttranchal for the past many centuries. This wonder tree also known as Kalpabriksha locally literally means, ' the tree which fulfills every human need '. It is found at an altitude of 2,000 to 5,000 feet in the sub Himalayan tract covering the Himalayan region, which includes regions like Uttranchal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal and Manipur. The tree can also grow in Andaman and Nicobar islands....
