In a relationship, married or not..i noe its too long but YOU SHOULD READ THIS! When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our...

While reading the story, I couldn't understand the characters...how did the husband not know about the cancer, how did the son not know, why did the women not specify this openly, and why was the man so fickle-minded deciding to divorce and then...

ad and the art of doing impossible In the early nineties in India nearly 340, 000 were dying of Hepatitis B in every year because of the cost of the vaccine, which was priced at Rs 750 per dose and Rs 2250 for an entire course. Then one man, a radical innovator came with a background in batteries and electronics and developed an Indian vaccine costing Rs. 50 per dose and Rs 150 for the total course. Today, the same vaccine is available for Rs. 15. The total no. of vaccines rose from 80,000 in 1991 to 10 crores in 2008. Grown in the lab: Artificial implants (Cornea) that restore sight in partially blind patients Here is a good news: Button-shaped artificial corneas have restored the sight in men and women in danger of going blind. The man-made corneas were just as good at improving eyesight as those usually obtained from donors. In time, the transparent implants could help ease the dire shortage of donated corneas. Worldwide, 1.5million people go blind each year because they cannot have corneal transplants. Damage to the cornea, the collagen-based transparent outermost layer of the eye, is one of the most common causes of blindness. It affects ten million people around the world and can be caused by genetics, surgery, burns, infection or chemotherapy. Previous attempts to develop synthetic implants have had limited success. To create an implant that is as close as the real thing as possible, the North American and Swedish researchers grew a synthetic form of human collagen in the lab and moulded...

OK, lets say that a crore pages are printed (physical digital) all over the world everyday. (don't ask me how i got that figure - i had no start point; it has no rationale - it is just an imagined figure (and serves my present purpose). now lets say that only a percent in languages which i can read and understand . that makes 1,00,000 pages. (hope my maths is passable!!) right, of these if only one percent are of relevance / interest to me, i'm left with 1000 sheets of paper. only one percent, or 10, of these may be available to me within my resources. this means that if i read less than 10 pages on a given day (or 70 pages in a week), i'll be falling behind. every week i'll have missed reading 70 while the world is busy creating another 70 (progressively increasing) relevant pages in laguages i understand and within my resources to procure. that's more than 3.5k annually !! we all know the song !!!! without realizing it we may be falling behind by the hour !!!!!!! the numbers may...

Abraham Lincoln once said that if he were given eight hours to chop down a tree, he would spend six hours sharpening his ax and two hours chopping down the tree. That is one of the true characteristics of a leader. We all should take time to sharpen our axes - by reading! Believe it or not, the average American reads just one book a year. What that means to you and me is that if we only read one book a month in our field, we will be twelve years ahead of the average person! The late Earl Nightingale, in his book, The Strangest Secret , said that if we read for two hours every day on any subject, in five years, we would become national experts on that particular subject. And in ten years, we would have the equivalent of a Ph.D! Reading quality books is the ultimate joy in life. It rekindles hope and takes a person to new heights. It rejuvenates and gives a boost to any person. We can no longer make excuses about not having time to read. Today we can even buy most books on...

10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours. YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a...
