Once upon a time, Google Webmasters Tools was useful in finding out
how Google crawled your website and to submit an XML sitemap to. In
recent times Google has beefed this up to include many new features,
some of which have become very useful in understanding your SEO
benefits.
Now don’t get me wrong, Webmaster Tools
has always given a useful insight into what is going on with your site,
but whereas I might have checked my clients sites weekly or even
longer, this has now become an almost daily occurrence. So, which
features should you be looking at? In a number of blog posts I will go
into some of the information which I use the most and why.
Search Queries
What was once known as the Top Search Queries Report is now simply
“Search Queries” and take it from me, this gives some brilliant
information. Basically, this gives information on web searches that
have returned your sites pages. For those Google AdWords bods out
there, think “Search Query Performance Report” for those that aren’t
familiar read my previous post (Save Money on your Google AdWords with the Search Query Performance Report).
Information you can find from this report includes:
- Keywords: The actual phrases which resulted in your site being found
- Impressions: The number of times the site was seen
- Clicks: Petty obviously really
- CTR: This stands for Click Through Rate and is the percentage of impressions that resulted in a click to your site
- Average Position: Whereabouts on the SERP the keyword is
Best of all you can filter between:
- Images
- Results from Smart Phones
- Results from other Mobiles
- Results from just Web
- Countries (not all countries though)
- Dates (a couple of days behind unfortunately)
Whilst there is a lot of information here, there will be some
results that instead of having a number will show <10. This shows
that whilst the search was performed, your site was not viewed.
Now this information is never going to replace that found in your analytics package but in my opinion is there to compliment it.
If you haven’t got webmasters tools installed I would recommend it
now. If you have but haven’t used it in a long time, go for it.
Come back later for more information on Google Webmasters Tools and SEO.

Why ca n’t we contain Inflation which other developed nations find it easier to do? Inflation is the general rise in price levels. It is matter of previlages and authority that is mismatched that lead to loss in value of the currency which had been our problem for long where our currency now is so undervalued and is loosing it as a pattern for long time. It all emerges, let us forget about the standard routes of raising rates or restricting money supply or even creating autostabilizers there is a fundamental reason why we have inflation far beyond what may be required by our growth and employment. Suppose if one get an electric connection, one need to also buy an inverter to get sustained power. If one need to buy a car one need to also spend on extra demand of services every half year. If one need to go to an office to get anything now(not now I presume) one need to spend extra income to get it to functional levels. So on and so forth goes the extra income required to meet the...

Yes they are going to be here.. and the first destination is Bangalore... Google cars and trikes will begin driving and taking street level photographs of public locations around the city. The images will be made available at a later date in Street View on Google Maps. Street View is a popular feature of Google Maps , already available in more than 27 countries. It allows users to virtually explore and navigate a neighborhood through panoramic street-level images. It is also available on Google Maps for mobile. In countries where Street View is available, the user can access street-level imagery by zooming into the lowest level on Google Maps, or by dragging the orange "Pegman" icon on the left-hand side of the map onto a blue highlighted street. In addition to the cars, the Google Trike - a specially designed three-wheel pedi-cab with a camera system mounted on top - will start gathering images from select locations in the area such as the Nrityagram Dance Village over the next...

Every month, Google makes tons of tiny changes to the way search works. It shares them in company blog posts that present a list of carefully scripted bullet points with mysterious code names in an inscrutable order. Google never comments on the changes beyond these announcements, but it's always informative to spread the puzzle pieces out on the table and see what Google is up to. Here's what changed in April. We thought there were a lot of changes in March, but April was even bigger. Google changed 52 things about its search algorithm last month. As usual, you don't need to worry about a bunch of them. But the most interesting of the latest search changes fall into three important categories. Smarter The more Google can guess (correctly) what we're looking for, the faster we can find it. Google is getting better at untangling our spelling mistakes, interpreting our meaning and answering our questions. One update helps Google interpret your intention by looking at your last few...
