What more can we expect from government agencies? They don't even spare hospitals and medical colleges from their corrupted minds. Merely for 100 bedded hospitals, when the cost per capita is much lower, the project cost estimation of 100 crores...

I do not belive that project costs are inflated to siphon off the money particularly in large projects. This has got some snese if the project cost is less than 10 crore not a new project. Asfar as the case referred here one can not do a...

I was unaware of high corruption level in bangalore. It was till my collegues bike was lost and he went to the Police station to complain. And there it was, his bike was lying right there in the police station.. The Policemen told him to pay 10,000 or he would not get his bike back.. He was terrified but he told he will complain to higher authorities and the policemen laughed.. They said just one thing.. "Right now it is 10,00.. go to the higher authorities and the price will rise higher!!".. Shocked and surprised he went to the atm and brought the money and got his bike back.. Is this the situatuion everywhere?? I told my friend that too is responsible for this corruption.. To this he said, Don't think that you can fight these people who are backed up by even more powerful policticiains, or you might end up in terrible situations!!

Most IT project evaluations are like the tail wagging the dog. They begin with IT strategy, rather than the goals of the business. In fact, IT strategy should be the third link in a chain that begins with business strategy, which in turn governs the product or service strategy, which then drives IT strategy. Lets understand this with a mid size CRM company Business strategy: Increase the customer base by 20 percent in the next year by providing increased functionality such as business operations analytics and executive dashboards. Product strategy: Develop an alliance with a business intelligence (BI) software company to add analytical capabilities to the CRM software. IT strategy: Create a new software platform that allows for easy integration with the BI software company and others. IT projects: Develop a Web services–based platform that offers universal data exchange and messaging between the CRM software and the BI software.   While this hierarchy reveals whether IT projects...

Politics and government are treated as words with negative connotations in the Indian society. Interestingly, the same is not true for many countries in other parts of the world. In a first of its kind initiative, the Research Foundation for Governance in India (RFGI) has taken up the task of educating the young minds of Ahmedabad about how the political systems across the world work. Curtis Riep, a graduate in international relations from University of Calgary, Canada; Ramiro Gomes Monteiro, political sciences and history student at Utrecht University, Netherlands; Catherine See, student of international relations at the National University of Malaysia; Katie Farrer, bachelor of law and political science at University of Otago, New Zealand; Joshua Stark, student of international development from McGill University, Canada; along with Swar Shah, Apoorv Shah and Kanan Dhru of the RFGI team have been visiting different schools and colleges in the city. They interact with youths about...

What Indian Business Education don’t provide for the Environment. Value generated and transacted in Business is the hallmark and pillar of the skill generated from a Business education. A business when it sell products in India, they don’t worry about the affordability of their wares by the masses let alone functionality which may be part of it. A business incurs around 40% of fixed cost component along with may be 30% variable cost and probably the rest as ‘conversion cost’. What Business education teach us and what is followed in  Efficient economies is they fix a breakeven point say 100 units of sale. These 100 units will provide the years cost incurred. After this point they will start giving discounts say 10% or so, so that more of products will move at lowered costs. If products are priced far above these three costs then the demand will subside and the production line will stagnate even for normal production. Two things are required in the environment for this process to...
