About "Handling Difficult People At Workplace...." topic:

The job of any manager is how efficiently & effectively he handles people at work. It is a challenge as a manager to form coalitions of willing, eager, & ambitious people within the realm of your responsibility. Handling people at work is not always as easy as it looks like, more so when a manager has to handle difficult people.

I think in such cases prevention is better then cure. In cases where one has encountered such people first try to understand their perspective (try to improve), secondly, if it does not work out start bypassing or side lining him or her from...

Domination comes out of high perfomance and high expectation from co-workers to do the same. For them high performance is everyday thing like commonsense but which infact is uncommon.
Anitha Raj  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  1 year ago
I agree with this, especially the statement - "Great people dominate by virtue of their ideas / knowledge and their intelligence / wisdom ; difficult people dominate by virtue of their personality."

When at work you will have seen one of your co-workers at work - superseding. What is superseding ? Well it is replacing some other person with regards to authority and power. Superseding is done by one person to another and at times with aide from a third person [s]. It is usually the case when the executive goes to his / her super boss rather than the immediate boss. Super boss is the senior of the immediate boss. Superseding is an amazing ego boost for the person who gains the authority and the one giving stands to be in good books with the person. Ofcouse it ends up being stress for the person who looses the authority. More: http://aboutonlineearningandlifestyle.blogspot.com/2011/03/are...

Abishek its not possible for everyone to work in their dream job. And thats not possible also. People should try to adjust with whatever job they get. If thats the case the employment issue will rise and the economic growth will go down......

If pressure means being forced to take up something U do not want to, (for whatever your reason), it is best to immediately let your superior know. Would it look good if you mulled over for a while & then decided that you wanted to refuse?
Sanjeev Bhandarkar  |  Argues in support of  "Remain calm for things to let go for a while and then resolve"  |  1 year ago
Both the options will work ... But the more suitable action is to remain calm for .... rather reacting immediately. This will help in planning to resolve any critical challenge.
Punam Dutta  |  Argues in support of  "Remain calm for things to let go for a while and then resolve"  |  1 year ago
Remain calm and solving it lated will be a good option. Always take time to think and solve the problem. Decisions taken in pressure r tension will lead to wrong conclusion...... :)

Hi Friends, Last month I had a meeting with one of my old friends, who is now VP–HR in a fairly large IT setup. He informed me that he is planning to lay off a couple of hundred people in his company, in a phased manner. What surprised me was that he mentioned that out of them around 80% are ‘difficult employees’.  I wondered aloud what was his definition of a ‘difficult employee’. What he told me was interesting and forms the basis of this post. “In every department/organization there are few people who are arrogant, demeaning (to others), insubordinate, not trustworthy, (always) cribbing and unproductive. And these employees are a huge drain for an organization in terms of wasted time, reduced productivity, inefficiency, and ultimately resulting in customer loss.” I again asked him as to why did the team, then not take precautions while hiring? He said these are traits and sometimes it is difficult to observe them during an interview. You get to know about them only from...

Those of which consciousness has been waked a little more than average consciousness of the people, are not feeling the necessity of observance of any in vogue religious rites and practices. ‘Manav Dharma’ or ‘MahaDharma’ (–the obligations of humanity) is their religion (works with deep attachment like religion). Also they are disagreeing to surrender themselves to monarchy. Therefore, monarchy and religion do not want that the human race becomes enough conscious.

I got this beautiful posts on  http://www.searchquotes.com/   To   live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.   The fear of being wrong, different, or socially unaccepted or unpopular is one of the biggest inhibitors to one's creative juices. When a person can do things without worrying what people will think of him, then a person can use their creativity with no limits, and take their work to places they probably would never of imagined going. One of the biggest rules to being creative is to first disregard everyone's opinion. The creativity you have is what makes your work your own, and changing it to fit into someone else's mold would defeat the purpose of it all.  Remember when being creative that your work doesn't have to be a pop icon or anything but it has to at some point change society in some way(s). Everyone has their own creative flow and energy, it is all about sticking to your gut feelings, despite the consequences or feelings of hesitance you might...

This is a story from web :     One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops - a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well. At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back. Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically weak? Well, he was. Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it. The next day the same thing happened - Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down.  And the next day, and the next. This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff. By the end of the...
