Yes Mr.Ashok i agree that a company should first see other ways through which they can cut costs rather than just laying off employees. Moreover as you said if they are firing off people just for no reason then that will set a bad image of the...

THERE IS ENOUGH SCOPE IN EVERY COMPANY TO CUT DOWN LOT OF UNWARRANTED COST WASTAGE. RATHER THEN STRAIGHT AWAY LAYING OFF/RETRENCHING EMPLOYEES, ALL SUCH POSSIBILITIES SHOULD BE EXPLORED AND IMPLEMENTED. LAYING OFF/RETRENCHMENT/REMOVAL SHOULD BE...

After going through this interview about creating corporate cultures I found it very interesting and I have somethings to contribute about the same What's the secret to building a great organization? How do you sustain consistent growth, profits, and service in an industry that can literally change overnight? And how do you build a culture of commitment and performance when the notion of loyalty seems like a quaint anachronism? How about if we told people what we know or at least what we think we know? Scary thought isn't it? What about the alternative? You see, communication will occur. The only question is, do you want to participate in the communication or leave it to the rumor mill, loo...

I have experienced the entrepreneur life and the corporate life.  I understand the pros and cons of each and have realized that one is NOT better than the other.  What I have realized is that the life that suits you most depends completely on your personality and stage of life that you are in. Are You a Risk Taker or Do You Like Feeling Comfortable? I was at my corporate job for about 3 months.  I was a consultant and I have to tell you, it was such a comfortable and easy-going time.  Don’t get me wrong, the hours were decently long (8am – 7pm everyday), but the work that I did was relatively easy and my responsibilities were not huge.  We had casual Fridays along with bagels in the morning...

I realized the other day that creating a new company for the first time is a lot like whipping up a great pasta salad for the first time – you need a recipe, even though it may look simple. You know the basic ingredients, and you can visualize the results you want. Yet you may not be so sure where to start, and how to put it all together. More... http://short.to/22fo5 .

I did my Schooling from a Boarding(St.Amtul's Public School - Nainital) Masters in International Business Management from Dutch Delta University - Netherlands in 2005 where i topped and was awarded Best Student...There i was approached by Mr.Jay More Global President of Human Factors International, i rejected the offer cause he lied to me and then I came back to India to work for my country and see the irony that here in my home country no company dared to give me a single chance to prove my talents even after trying for 6  long  years 'n many job portals like monster 'n naukri are fooling with job seekers like me and i never got a relevant job opportunity... some approach me for programmings and those fools didn't gave a Damn care to have a through look at my C.V. Social entrepreneurship in India is making greater strides towards inclusiveness by involving every strata of society to tap into the momentum and growth of the country. However, in spite of several initiatives, social entrepreneurship eco-system in India is not coming together as well as it needs to.  Their focus and collaboration on solutions should be directed towards not merely one-off acts of charity, but adding up to a vast array of sustainable services across sectors and industries that help people at the base of the pyramid, which is not happening in the country now.  In the post-independent era, many enterprising men with social bent of mind had ventured into setting up educational institutions, which helped the country to move out of the chaotic state into a vibrant and democratic environment. But over the decades, these established institutions which laid the foundation for modern India, because of their sheer size, were forced to evolve into large business enterprises...

10 things about good bosses   Do you like your boss? Let's be honest, a majority of employees will definitely come with a negative answer to this question. Yes, bosses are not always there to be liked. But is there any fun being a boss who is not respected or ineffective at managing staff? Of course not, so let's have a look at what it takes to be a good boss. Below are 10 things that bosses can do to guarantee that their subordinates and co-workers will respect them. 1. Praise the staff in public, correct them in private   Good bosses know it very well that praising and encouraging the staff is the key to have a positive atmosphere within the office and it helps to bring the best in them. If someone does something well, a good boss should recognize them for their efforts. People need to know when they are doing well and that they are appreciated. However, if someone is not doing so well, speak to them privately, instead of calling them out in front of a group. 2. Pay people what...

Let me share a few issues for TS members. Demarcation of the boundary was initially made with limited accuracy (reasons beyond scope here). At places it did not follow geographical features. The line stopped at a point known as NJ 9842 on the map – with no demarcation beyond. It is due to the strategic importance of the Saltoro Ridge that Pakistani troops began creeping up we were left with no option but to quickly occupy our territory. That was 1984. Today we occupy advantageous strategic positions. There is far more to our northern frontiers than Siachen Glacier. We do have a significant presence of troops in various other parts of the north. The Siachen glacier is only a fraction. Heights are dizzying, temperatures are sub sub zero (can only be felt, not imagined), silence is total (actually screams at you), and the loneliness is so profound that only the numbers of troops going hysterical, or otherwise suffering, can explain. Even walking with such low oxygen levels is...
