About "HR - GOING FOR GEN X!!" topic:

Hiring Gen X has become the current trend. Companies are opting to go for youger employees rather than older one's. Today's Generation X employees  have higher expectations of what managers should do to support them than the Baby Boomer generation had before them.

Yes, I feel that recruitment through the net using creative and interactive game-playing could just turn out to be the solution to the long-standing grievance of HR honchos that they are unable to get the right candidates.

This is correct but no promotion with out knowledge or bias. But lot politics in the organistion to increase the salary or promotions. It means all decision are fairly and transparant to all the employees of the organisation.

I do not agree with the statement. I am a part of this generation and being a member of the same group I can say for sure that younger people are still hard working and mostly look for opportunities where their can put their full potential to work...

I think gen y is on the right track. But they are late! look at the Americans and Europeans, the salary they get, are always sufficient to give then very comfortable and luxurious life style. However we still fight to buy one car after 10 years...

I believe that feedbacks will sure help to motivate them. Generation Y workforce or employees need their superiors to provide them with immediate and clear feedback at regular intervals. So always remember to give frequent feedback now and then.

You can motivate millennials by structuring their works so that it is congruent with (technology)how they grew up. We all know Gen Y grew up using computer, ipods and lots of other gadgets and they might expect the same thing to be used when they...

Grown in the lab: Artificial implants (Cornea) that restore sight in partially blind patients Here is a good news: Button-shaped artificial corneas have restored the sight in men and women in danger of going blind. The man-made corneas were just as good at improving eyesight as those usually obtained from donors. In time, the transparent implants could help ease the dire shortage of donated corneas.   Worldwide, 1.5million people go blind each year because they cannot have corneal transplants. Damage to the cornea, the collagen-based transparent outermost layer of the eye, is one of the most common causes of blindness. It affects ten million people around the world and can be caused by genetics, surgery, burns, infection or chemotherapy. Previous attempts to develop synthetic implants have had limited success. To create an implant that is as close as the real thing as possible, the North American and Swedish researchers grew a synthetic form of human collagen in the lab and moulded...

HAVE. No FEAR. If you were afraid of nothing, what goals would you set? What could you accomplish? What would you do if nothing scared you or made you nervous? Fear stops success. For example, a woman who wants to get married, but she is afraid of men. So she does not get married. Or she marries someone who is wrong for her, just because he does not scare her. If you want to run a business, you will fail if you are afraid of making big decisions. If you want to be a doctor, you cannot be afraid of sick people. If you want to succeed as an athlete, you cannot be afraid of hard, painful practice. Fear of anything can ruin your success: fear of rejection, fear of being excluded, fear of anger, fear of paperwork, fear of speaking to groups, fear of stating the truth, fear of asking for money, fear of responsibility, fear of being attacked, fear of looking stupid, fear of pain, fear of displeasing someone and more. With no fear in your life, what could you accomplish? The Only Way to...

Office Etiquette or Office Manners is about conducting yourself   respectfully and courteously   in the office or workplace I have noticed that as we go from college to the real corporate world it is hard to get used to a different environment. This is for freshers because other would be knowing the thumb rules already.   Always act with honesty and   dignity Chewing   gum   and popping bubble gum in the presence of co-workers is neither cool nor dignified Never   do it whilst attending customers Wear appropriate office   attire,   for example correct footwear, not thongs (flip flops) - they are strictly casual or beachwear No exposed midriff to   display   tattoos and body piercing. Be neat, clean and as   conservative   as the business requires you to be We are put off by   smelly people.   So, be sure to shower regularly and use a suitable deodorant Do not   cough or sneeze   in anyone's direction. Use a tissue, if possible, to contain the germs and then say "Excuse me" The  ...

Do you know Walt Disney’s motto ? Never mind if you don't, but surely you'll know what all he accomplished with a simple motto; "It's kind of fun to do the impossible." Even those things that seemed totally hopeless before they are  started look relatively simple once they are done.  Every day we run into those situations. Those are the "I can't" moments. Instead of saying "I can't", ask yourself "Do I want to?"   If the answer is "No", just go ahead and say "I can't".  But if the answer is "Yes", ask yourself another question: "How can I?" Imagine what you could accomplish with a simple motto, "How can I?" - the world maybe ? who knows ??
