The model that google follow is good for an organization like that but for others I do not think that it is actually a great idea to follow it. When small companies start following it there would be no employees in the office as well no work...
Shishir Mishra  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  3 years ago
I think from employees point of view I would agree to it. The flexible time zones and the ease of work actually motivate people to work for such a company.

Nandini g [27/7/99]

I think it is difficult to decide whether FB is making us less humans. Look at from this view that one person is alone & busy in work that its hard for him to meet friends & relatives. In this case FB will be best tool for interaction &...

I think many people think the use of the technology is a form of 'modern madness', under the illusion of allowing us to communicate better, technology is isolating us from real human interactions in a cyber-reality that is a poor imitation of the...

Sometimes the outsourcing leads to exploitation of employees. The agency is getting the fatty lump sum of amount per head from the companies and making very less amount as consolidated salaries to the contract employees.

A Company should only concentrate on its core cpmpetencies and out source the rest. This does not mean a total abdication of responsibility and/or actions. It means having a small core team to dictate policy, compliance and enforcement and have...

Your point of views is correct Mr.Kasturirangan. It would be better to utilize the existing/available human capital towards achievement of the growth. Outsourcing takes place with a view to minimize the company expenditure that may not be a wrong...

Provided by BUSINESSWEEK The thousands of wait-listed would-be MBAs who may not get the chance to go to their dream B-school might want to draw inspiration from the following group of CEOs. Not only did they not get graduate degrees, they didn't get undergraduate degrees -- and some never even attended college. Of course, not having a degree didn't stop them from being a big name on campus. You'll find Alfred Taubman's name at Brown, Harvard, the University of Michigan, and Lawrence Technological University; at least one building on each campus bears his name, although the retail magnate and philanthropist never finished college. Read on to learn who else made it into corporate top spots wi...

When we have a degree we believe to be a genius one and do simple thing more complex, which happened most of the time.

Obviously the inability to get a degree wont stop a person becoming successful in life in a bigger manner.

Way back in 1897 William Faulkner said, “ I believe that man will not merely endure; he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among the creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of kindness and compassion .” I’m not talking about anything new here; it’s just a reminder of what we all knew and seem to have forgotten. We seem to have been taken in by the sheer pace of things around us – the violence, the economy driven work culture, the information boom, etc etc – you know them all – and the media has only added up to the pace. We need to look around us. Where have all courtesies gone ? Been to a gathering lately ? This is a wake-up call , a reminder !! We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibres connect us with our fellow human beings; and along those fibres, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects . We need to re-learn to give; so that some of us eventually receive. It's the...

Office Etiquette or Office Manners is about conducting yourself   respectfully and courteously   in the office or workplace I have noticed that as we go from college to the real corporate world it is hard to get used to a different environment. This is for freshers because other would be knowing the thumb rules already.   Always act with honesty and   dignity Chewing   gum   and popping bubble gum in the presence of co-workers is neither cool nor dignified Never   do it whilst attending customers Wear appropriate office   attire,   for example correct footwear, not thongs (flip flops) - they are strictly casual or beachwear No exposed midriff to   display   tattoos and body piercing. Be neat, clean and as   conservative   as the business requires you to be We are put off by   smelly people.   So, be sure to shower regularly and use a suitable deodorant Do not   cough or sneeze   in anyone's direction. Use a tissue, if possible, to contain the germs and then say "Excuse me" The  ...

Do you know Walt Disney’s motto ? Never mind if you don't, but surely you'll know what all he accomplished with a simple motto; "It's kind of fun to do the impossible." Even those things that seemed totally hopeless before they are  started look relatively simple once they are done.  Every day we run into those situations. Those are the "I can't" moments. Instead of saying "I can't", ask yourself "Do I want to?"   If the answer is "No", just go ahead and say "I can't".  But if the answer is "Yes", ask yourself another question: "How can I?" Imagine what you could accomplish with a simple motto, "How can I?" - the world maybe ? who knows ??
