About "India-Pakistan Talks: Will there be any progress?" topic:

The talks between India and Pakistan though represents an encouraging step towards restoring dialogue and better communication between the two countries,But will it resolve any issues with these talks. Before we had the much hyped Agra summit which was like a photo session for the then Pak president Parvez Musharraff at the Taj Mahal and nothing much happened from those talks.

The talks have begun with the meeting between Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir here.  So, what do you think people will there be any progress this time around? share your views on this.

WE ARE TALKING WITH PAKISTAN FROM LAST MANY YEARS. BUT WHAT IS RESULT ? WHY WE ARE WASTING OUR TIME ? RIGHT NOW WE HAVE NO NEED TO TALK . THIS IS THE TIME FOR ACTION.
Makrand Bhave  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  2 years ago
Talks are enough!! Lets take an agenda and get DECISIONS!! Its pathetic how we always find ourselves at the receiving end with Pakistan. I must admit that they are better strategists.

pakistan has nothing to talk about kashmir. did india has anything to do with multan or punjab in pakistan. kashmir is a integral part of india. its a state belong to indian territory. there is a government running there, elections held , and a...

India Must Tell Pakistan to Keep Off the Indian Mujahideen Mercifully, no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the latest terror carnage in Mumbai on July 13 has surfaced so far. Thankfully, the Government of India has kept a cool head and refrained from throwing barbs at Pakistan for Mumbai’s Bloody Wednesday. India has displayed political and diplomatic maturity by not unilaterally cancelling Pakistan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar’s India visit later this year and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has firmly stated that the July 26-27 talks in New Delhi between him and Khar will take place as scheduled. The Indian restraint is laudable because if India were t...

According to a news, FBI arrested one Mr. Fai, a Kashmiri born US citizen on the allegations that he is funding the separatist parties and terrorist outfits in Kashmir. The news reports that his interrogation revealed that Pakistan's Intelligence...

India, Pakistan Ready for Talks India and Pakistan are set to embark on another round of serious engagement when their foreign secretaries meet in Islamabad this month. It promises to be an intense session when Nirupama Rao and Salman Bashir meet on June 23-24, and straws in the wind suggest that the talks will be unlike other recent secretary-level discussions held between the two countries. There’s even been speculation that the two sides are set to negotiate some concrete deliverables to bring about a new thaw and pave the way for foreign minister-level discussions. Yet Pakistan has already struck a disharmonious note, claiming that the agenda will be limited to the Kashmir issue, peace ...

'You people are exerting massive pressure on the players. I can imagine the faces of those players that would be representing both Pakistan and India in the morrow's cricket match in Mohali. Kindly leave it to them. The Pak bowlers are capable of running through an Indian batting line up on the given day as well as the Indian batting line up is strong enough to disrupt the Pak bowlers' party. But that should be taken in good spirits as part of the proceedings.' General Parvaiz Musharaf spoke these words to a suave-looking newsreader of the Times TV channel that appeared to lead the person to some sort of controversy by feeding him with a ludicrous question - Don't you agree with the fact th...

DISAPPOINTMENT IN THIMPHU Shakespeare famously wrote in  Hamlet: ‘Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.’ The same could still be said about India-Pakistan relations. The two neighbours are so near and yet so far, a point underscored once again on February 6, when Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao met her counterpart Salman Bashir in Thimphu on the sidelines of an SAARC conference. The talks delivered a mixed bag of results. On the negative side, there was no joint statement at the end of the talks, and no joint press conference with the two principals. They remained in different orbits and stuck to positions that are completely unacceptable to the other. Pakistan, for its part, w...

This is a PDF file so I can't upload it here. The article discusses the jihadi threat to India against the backdrop of recent reports of Pakistan having doubled up its number of nuclear weapons. For full article, pl go to  http://epaper.sakaaltimes.com/SakaalTimes/19Feb2011/Enlarge/page8.htm

Floods deluge Pak With Strategic Problems   The Zardari government's inefficient handling of the floods is reminiscent of the General Yahya Khan government's thoroughly inept rescue and relief operations in the wake of the devastating Bhola cyclone in East Pakistan in 1970 that sowed the seeds of Pakistan's dismemberment, argues  Rajeev Sharma.   Pakistan's worst-ever floods may drown President Asif Ali Zardari himself. He is increasingly being seen as the modern time's Nero. He chose to be abroad when floods deluged large parts of his country, displacing over 20 million people, much more than the 2004 Asian tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti quake all put together. The Zardari government's inefficient handling of the floods is reminiscent of the General Yahya Khan government's thoroughly inept rescue and relief operations in the wake of the devastating Bhola cyclone in East Pakistan on November 12, 1970 that sowed the seeds of Pakistan's dismemberment....

My friend Rizwan Khan mailed me this interesting draft made by a Pakis journalist.   Written by a Pakistani journalist about India MUST READ Capital suggestion By Dr Farrukh Saleem 12/9/2007 Here's what is happening in India : The two Ambani brothers can buy 100 percent of every company listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and would still be left with $30 billion to spare. The four richest Indians can buy up all goods and services produced over a year by 169 million Pakistanis and still be left with $60 billion to spare. The four richest Indians are now richer than the forty richest Chinese. In November, Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex flirted with 20,000 points. As a consequence, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries became a $100 billion company (the entire KSE is capitalized at $65 billion). Mukesh owns 48 percent of Reliance. In November, comes Neeta's birthday. Neeta turned forty-four three weeks ago. Look what she got from her husband as her birthday present: A...

After two cardic arrests now Dawood is looking for a burial spot in Mumbai. He is one of the most wanted men in India. It is the power he has which has kept him away from getting caught. Though police says they are strictly following his movements still they are yet not arresting him anyways. How funny is the fact that newspaper jounalists know that his men and he are finding a spo for his burial but do not give away his whereabouts and even when police knows the same nothing ever happens. He is famous for hiding out of India. Crime branch has spent millions in keeping a track of him but still have never been able to catch him. Though he is responsible for 1993 serial blasts in mumbai he is still free. Even while he helds lavish weddings for his daughters and everyone knows about the location no one wants to risk his life by going against him. Crime branch chief said that there are other gangsters who want to return to their native land but they are afraid of the consequences but...
