Currently it is 3 years, but I guess it is only for the officers, not for the clerks and below them. It should be extended to all levels. They should not be allowed to continue in a place for more than 3 years. If the continue, they would...

Religion is never the source of conflict. All religions have propagated only peace and well being. The fanatics cause the conflict. One cannot blame religion for the mistakes of the fanatics. The society has to tale steps to educate the fanatics...

Most of current and well-established religions are like that, except ‘MahaDharma’ –the religion of human being. ‘MahaDharma’ is for becoming proper human being – for human well fare, not for worshiping of God. ‘MahaDharma’ is the way of a better...

India should retaliate China continues its policy of needling India on various issues   India’s China policy is going nowhere. The Chinese have bluntly declared that they will continue with their policy of issuing stapled visas as usual. Now the ball is in the Indian court. The Indian pride is at stake. And it is not 1962 when Indian troops fought the Chinese without rudimentary battle uniform and were mauled.   India has to retaliate in such a manner that it hits China hard. Nothing will hit China harder than a new Indian position that it is no longer for one-China policy. India has to come up with a double T-dose of Tibet and Taiwan to deal with China’s sole T-obsession: Tawang, a part of...

Hi friends,I got this wonderful piece of information wanted to share with you all...plz give your opinion after reading.... The exact period of Vedas, Upanishad, Ramayana, or Mahabharata may still be a matter of debate, but no body can deny the fact that during all these periods feeding a hungry person was treated as a greatest service to man kind. “Anna daanam mahaa daanam” is a very popular Sanskrit verse which has motivated millions of Indians to perform this divine act and in ancient India in most of the temple premises there were annadana centers. But, things have changed drastically and now we can see very few temple premises which run annadanam schemes. Healthy rural Indian economy h...

Importance of Distance Education in India                                                                                                                                                               Asif Ahmed   After independence, India had made tremendous progress in the field of education, though mostly quantitative in nature. Earlier, education was available only to the elites in society, and a large majority of poor and marginalized people remained illiterate. Political considerations have an important role in the expansion of higher education, especially at the state level. The state government experienced tremendous pressure from the public to establish more and more colleges and universities. In a democratic society, even the strong governments find it very difficult to resist such pressures and are compelled to succumb to the same. These considerations have led to fast expansion of higher education in our country, which in turn, have adverse impact upon its quality....

Traditionally retailing in India can be traced to the emergence of the neighborhood Kirana stores catering to the convenience of the consumers, an era of government support for rural retail: Indigenous franchise model of store chains run by Khadi Village Industries Commission, 1980s experienced slow change as India began to open up economy. Textiles sector with companies like Bombay Dyeing, Raymond's, S Kumar's and Grasim first saw the emergence of retail chains. Later Titan successfully created an organized retailing concept and established a series of showrooms for its premium watches. The latter half of the 1990s saw a fresh wave of entrants with a shift from Manufactures to Pure Retailers. For example Food World, Subhiksha and Nilgiris in food and FMCG; Planet M and Music World in music; Crossword and Fountainhead in books. Post 1995 onwards saw an emergence of shopping centers, mainly in urban areas, with facilities like car parking targeted to provide a complete destination...

Facts about "Jana Gana Mana" - Just a thought for the National Anthem! How well do you know about it?     I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata",    whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India! Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country.   Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.   To begin with, India's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of  England when they visited India in 1919.   To honour their visit Pandit Motilal  Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and  Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!! !)   In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha etc. were mentioned. None of  the  princely states were recognised which are integral parts of India...
