About "Indian IT sector in 2010" topic:

Since last year, it is predicted that the global economy will limp back to normalcy in 2010 and IT will play an important role in the recovery. And it is said that global IT spending will grow about 3.2% in 2010, resuming to 2008 levels of some $1.5 trillion. Meanwhile, it seems that India’s $60-billion technology services industry may also receive some boost in 2010 after lousy 2009. Various Indian ministries also insist for 7-8 % growth in GDP this year. And with hiring spree we are seeing IT sector going in the right direction in 2010. So let us discuss regarding the IT sector in 2010 like, how it is going help India clock that 8% GDP this year and what needs to be done in that regard.

Obama's Tax Policy is limited to IT sector. Indians and indian industries are better valued because of copywrite intellect. We have a strong clientele base and indians have the caliber not only to satisfy the clients needs but also develop a...

I agree with Mrigena. We are still economically depending a lot on USA. By this the tax cut plan, the scope of outsource will be distributed to other countries as well which will take India's dominance out of Outsourcing market and create many...
sumitra dutta  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
I also think that stopping tax breaks won't affect IT exports in India since US firms have to continue outsourcing since it makes business sense for them. So, taking away tax breaks is not going to impact Indian IT industry.

I certainly hope so being in the Indian IT sector myself and situation also points to the same direction.. The IT Expenditure lock is being gradually lifted and projects are being awarded although with more riders than before
Joe Cherian  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
It will, but takes time. Also Obama's plans to provide tax relaxations to companies who provide opportunities at US, this may lead to the slowdown of outsourcing....

I agree that Indian IT sector will return to its old speed but I don't think that will happen in 2010. I think this process will still take some 1-2 more years. The amount of loss IT sector has faced is huge and its not going to get fulfilled by...

It would be useful to focus on the question we are debating, since people seem to be missing the point. The point is not whether Indian IT services industry is bigger or better than China's - the point is: of all the rivals that India has, is...

10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours. YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a...

Who is Sonia Gandhi: There is officially no Sonia Gandhi. Her real name in passport is neither Gandhi nor Sonia. Its Edvige Antonia Albina Maino. Sonia is a Russian name and not Italian. However, Antonia is an Italian name and her passport is Italian. Though she has married Rajiv Gandhi* she never accepted change of title officially. ( recall the time of turmoil in Indian politics when Sonia Gandhi was trying to be the prime minister, but ultimately Manmohan Singh became her toy) *Rajiv Gandhi: Actually Rajiv Khan being the son of Firoz Khan and Indira Priyadarshani. Gandhi is an assumed title to sentimentally lure indians for their political benefit. They are muslims by religion. Father: Stefano Eugene Maino is socially the father of Sonia. Her father was a German(Hitlers army). When Hitlers army went to Russia they were captured and imprisoned. He was captured near St. Petersburg and was imprisoned for 20 years. But he became a member of KGB and his imprisonment was limited to 4...
