About "Indian Media Industry" topic:

Indian media is an epitome of diversity and variety as reflected in the whole identity of Indian tradition and cultural scenario. Media empowerment is a sign of true democracy-it is the perfect tool to communicate with one and all, in short the entire world. In this day and age, media is splattered all over the place-snazzy tabloids, round -the clock- news channels and not to forget, the revamped radio circuit.

Though media is an indispensable tool, it has a social responsibility attached to it. They must strongly believe in the age old adage ‘A pen is mightier than a sword’. If the pen is put to right use, the world could flourish. If not, it could become the biggest weakness of Indian media.

Let us share and discuss around all the various aspects of Indian Media...

I think traditional media doesn't work because more and more people are using social networking, social media all the day and have no time to watch television or other traditional media.
Arnab Sen  |  Argues in support of  "YES it Works"  |  4 years ago
I believe that traditional media does indeed still work. We all still watch television, read newspapers, magazines, and still listen to radio. Don't we still respond to an eye-catching billboard, we do because of the message with is much more eye...

Most of the electronic and print media are happy to do the coverage on Christmas on the Christmas day and greet the viewers/ readers on Id and Diwali. They think that is how religion ought to be covered. There is need for greater understanding of religion to understand even contemporary political issues. How many journalists know that the Shankara of Kaladi set up only four Peeths, though there are more than five holy men calling themselves Shankaracharyas? Even the secular Press in the West is as dismissive of religion as the Indian media. Journalists there are as ill-equipped as Indian journalists are. For example, the recent developments in Pakistan cannot be understood without understan...

Absolutely no. They are covering people problems but not to solve them. These channels are for making money not for social service.

We have talked a lot about cricket and not many want to encourage discussions regarding cricket anymore.  Then came the doping scandal of athletes. Now we have a good news.. Indian swimmers Virdhawal Khade and Sandeep Sejwal created quite a splash at the seventh Singapore Open Championships, sharing four gold, a silver and three bronze medals among themselves. While Khade bagged two gold and three bronze medals, Sandeep brought home two gold and a silver. Khade was in top form at the meet as he won the gold in the 50m and 100m Freestyle events with times of 23.21 and 51.08 seconds respectively. Khade also added three bronze medals to his tally while competing in the 200m Freestyle event (1:52.54), 100m Butterfly Event (55.37) and as a member of the 400m Freestyle Relay team. Sandeep was as impressive in his performance securing podium finishes in all the events he participated in. He won the gold in his favorite event, the 50m breaststroke, with a time of 29.10 seconds and the 100m...
