With the decline of the Mughal Empire, India broke into fragments,
and states were formed based on language and common culture
backgrounds. And now India is the most diverse nation in the world,
travel along the country each day or other you will find yourselves in
a new place altogether. And in a recent function where President
Prathiba patil attended the Tamil language conference in Tamilnadu was
speaking on tamil languages importance in India, and news media were
already debating whether Hindi Language is making other languages in
the country to loose its sheen.

And the National language Hindi is not spoken by all, and if you go
to few states in south India or some place else they don't even want to
conversate in hindi, even if they know they will not speak, and will
speak in their local languages, much to the irk of others...And with
more new states in demand, the problem will even get worse more. So,
let us discuss regarding this Language problems in Developing nations.

There is no harm in learning any number of languages provided they are fluent with their mother tongue first. Regards, Anna George. Web Analyst. Nichepro Technologies. Bangalore. http://www.nichesuite.com

In my view, English is as important as our mother tongue viceversa.English should be given very much importance but how much hindi is given, in the same way, is also should be considered by everyone in our country.

Many of our leaders might not like it but the naked truth is that English is an international language spoken and understood throughout the world. The poor children should get equal opportunities and that can be achieved if they learn english...

This entirely depends on the one's own mentality. If a person is losing his/her mother tongue then that is due to their carelessness. When there are people who are losing their mother tongue then on the other side there are many people , who speak...

Manoj...... amazing debate....... Yes nowadays we are losing our mother tongue. Especially the children, they speak only English and hesitates to speak their mother tongue. This is all the parents fault who don't teach them their mother tongue....

Our Idea has to be in favour of our country and its people. 1 common language other than our local language will attach people from diferent parts of country. That is the reason i support promotion of HINDI language (majority spoken language).

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals. We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish and a Gaggle of geese. However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably, because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls. Now consider a gathering of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates. And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons? Believe it or not ....... a Congress ! And, of course, the well known collective noun for a group of owls: PARLIAMENT! PS: Pl read it for fun only and without any political trappings. That's why I have put it in "OTHERS" category of Industry and not "POLITICS".

I found this while I was checking a friends blog and accidently bumped in to this.. Molestation is an ugly word. But still everyone needs to know what it is. Touching and exploiting someone sexually is molestation. A child should always be explained what is the difference between good and bad touch. Along with this if a child complains about a bad touch it should be taken seriously and a steps should be taken against this. Today I am saying this because I was a victim. A victim of child abuse, a victim of adolescent molestation and it continues. But I can proudly say that I had all the strength to fight this as an adolescent. When I was a child I went to see a doctor , a skin specialist for something which had happened on my face. I realised that the behaviour of the doctor was weird and I was at first scared. Then I told my parents and they made me feel it was ok and they just did not complain about this anywhere. The only solution they came to was : not to take me to that...
