About "Leadership in India" topic:
Politics of India take place in a framework of a federal parliamentary multi-party representative democratic republic modeled after the British Westminster System. The Prime Minister of India is the head of government, while the President of India is the formal head of state and holds substantial reserve powers, placing him or her in approximately the same position as the British monarch. Executive power is exercised by the government. Federal legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of the Parliament of India. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

I respect Baba and his vision and I am in no way eligible to comment on a person who has millions of followers and the path he has chosen is that of Yoga and sainthood. That's admirable to the core. But, politics is not a part time job. Its about...

Though we have been witnessing good economic growth and all round development to some extent, India still needs to go a very long way and we need many more reforms. The present UPA government is doing well despite the political compulsions and the selection of cabinet ministers and the work being done by the Union Ministers Mr.Chidambaram, Mr.Pranab Mukarjee, Mr.Kabil Cibal and Mr.Jairam Ramesh etc. speaks volumes about the commitment of the present Central Government and the Congress Party in reaching to the common man. Some may criticize Gandhi's leading the Congress Party continually, but, I don't think anything wrong if Gandhi's lead the Congress Party and the nation when they do well ...

Many questions are being asked by the media after the Bhopal Case verdict and the issue has occupied so much significance in the light of Nuclear Liability Bill. Under no circumstances, the Government should give up Nuclear Liability Bill and should carry forward our good and compulsive relations with United States of America. The citizens and the enlightened of this country understand the realities and understand the fact that United States is a dominant force in the world. Can we cut the relations with United States if they say that Anderson can not be extradited to India under any circumstances? We can't? What happened in Bhopal was a unfortunate thing and still, environmental regulatio...

LETTER OF THE EDITOR OF 'THE TIMES OF INDIA ' TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA I am born and brought up in Mumbai for last fifty eight years. Believe me, corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar . Look at all the politicians, Sharad Pawar, Chagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Bal Thackray , Gopinath Munde, Raj Thackray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money. Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief ministers I have seen. His only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it to Delhi , so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new way and will increase FSI for fishermen, so they can build concrete houses right on sea shore. Next time ...

Integrity of any political party and its worthiness is judged from the way they conduct themselves in the Parliament and make themselves worthy to the people who elected them. Democracy is strangled when elected representatives, ignore the needs and aspirations of the people whom they represent. Democracy is strangled, when the political parties stoop down to use the communal feeling of one group against other to come to power and compelled to oppress other communities to appease its supporters. Democracy is strangled, when ‘Playing dirty Politics’ become the main business and theme of the Government and Political parties that support and oppose the government. "The Bitter Pills for India Reprieve" I wrote this in this community in toosteps.com few years back. The article is available in the following link in www.wordpress.com http://wp.me/p1ZsI2-5I
