Recently I joined an intensive two-month training course offered by a LPO firm based in Pune. Very soon after joining I was disappointed to find that the course on 'American Law' really related to 'No Fault Auto Insurance Law' relating to New York and nothing more. The Trainer was an Indian (of Maharashtrian origin), who did not brook any questions or comments during his exposition of the subject, which was of a clinical nature, starting with the forms used in the field and the format for pleadings if the matter were before the  courts there. The English language part was also oriented to ascertaining the competence of the candidates without an attempt to enlighten them on the nuances of th...

It may still be a growing industry in India but legal process outsourcing or LPOs is expected to fetch up to $20 billion by 2015. Nasscom estimates about 700 Indian lawyers are currently reaping the LPO boom benefit, debating and documenting the glittering fallouts of globalisation family disputes, patents entertainment, pharma.  Several MNCs in the US and Europe are outsourcing their legal requirements to Indian law firms based in Gurgaon, Noida, Bangalore and Mumbai. Facts about "Jana Gana Mana" - Just a thought for the National Anthem! How well do you know about it?     I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata",    whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India! Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country.   Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.   To begin with, India's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of  England when they visited India in 1919.   To honour their visit Pandit Motilal  Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and  Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!! !)   In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha etc. were mentioned. None of  the  princely states were recognised which are integral parts of India...

Don't go for Kamasutra, you may repent     Sophos computer  security  firm warned that hackers are spreading a nasty computer virus with a file promising a PowerPoint presentation of sexual positions from the Kama Sutra.  "Be careful what you do with that mouse," Graham Cluley of Sophos said in an online post.  "When you click on the file you do get to see a real PowerPoint presentation, but in the background a backdoor  Trojan  called Troj/Bckdr-RFM is installed which allows hackers to gain remote access to your computer."  Once a computer is infected with the malicious software, the hacker can steal personal information and spy on users' activities or use the machine for nefarious deeds such as sending spam or attacking websites.  In scant consolation, the booby-trapped file did present slides of more than a half dozen lovemaking techniques illustrated from the ancient Indian text, according to Cluley.
