* Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam 's Speech in Hyderabad . * Why is the media here so negative ? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why? We are the first in milk production . We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters. I was in Tel Aviv onc...

There is no need to pass a corruption act. It is already in action. All the laws of this country has been made to facilitate corruption.Until unless present laws are amended or quashed corruption cant be removed .

Babus ( officers ) use difference tactics to fleece bribe. You can use following tips to counter those tactics. These are very simple & useful. I have tried and got wonderful results. (1) Indefinite Delay : Keep on delaying your work until you come forward & offer bribe. Solution : Don’t visit government offices. Follow your pending work through letters. You may send letters by courier, registered post or speed post. Remember local speed post costs only Rs. 12/-. Local couriers are available at Rs. 5/-. You may also use RTI Act to know status of your work. In this case you need to spend another Rs. 10/-. (2) Demanding unnecessary papers : Sometimes they demand unnecessary papers & give hints...

Military Strength: Comapre India and Pakistan Manpower and Ground Forces India has the second largest manpower in its military globally - at 3,773,300 personell (2005), next only to China. Pakistan has a much smaller manpower of 1,449,000 personell which is proportionally higher than India in terms of their population ratios. Pakistan’s ground forces are equipped with American or Chinese weapons like FIM 92 Stinger SAMs, BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles, T-82 tanks and other equipments. Indian ground forces are equipped mostly by home-made or Soviet technologies like IR guided 9K35 Strela-10 SAMs, 3rd Gen IR guided Nag anti-tank missiles, UAVs and a large inventory of tanks and support vehicles. In terms of numbers and equipments, both Indian and Pakistani ground forces are on an closely equal footing. Comparison of Air Forces As of 2006, Indian Air Force (IAF) has over 170,000 personnel and 3,382 aircrafts of which 1,330 are combat aircrafts operating off 61 airbases - making it the...

Facts about "Jana Gana Mana" - Just a thought for the National Anthem! How well do you know about it? I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata", whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India! Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country. Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't. To begin with, India's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of England when they visited India in 1919. To honour their visit Pandit Motilal Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!! !) In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha etc. were mentioned. None of the princely states were recognised which are integral parts of India...

India has formally cleared the biggest-ever Indo-US defence deal, the $4.1 billion contract for 10 C-17 Globemaster-III giant strategic airlift aircraft. All decks for the almost Rs 19,000-crore deal, which will support over 22,000 jobs in the US as Barack Obama himself put it, were cleared last month. On Monday, the Cabinet Committee on Security chaired by PM Manmohan Singh gave the final go-ahead for the contract, under which the 10 Globemasters are to be delivered to IAF between 2013 and 2015. The $4.1 billion deal, in fact, could well become even bigger at a later stage. "They are fantastic aircraft, which we chose after a deep study of what all was available in the world market...After the first 10 Globemasters, we will examine the option to go in for another six,'' IAF chief Air Chief Marshal P V Naik told . Capable of carrying a maximum payload of 77.5 tonnes, which can include combat vehicles, artillery guns and battle-ready troops, the Boeing-manufactured Globemasters will...
