About "Ensuring Successful Process Control Systems" topic:

Manufacturing process control and quality assurance are elements of a quality management system, which is the set of policies, procedures, and processes used to ensure the quality of a product or a service. It is widely acknowledged that quality management systems improve the quality of the products and services produced, thereby improving market share, sales growth, sales margins, and competitive advantage, and helping to avoid litigation.  So, lets discuss here about Manufacturing process control & quality assurance.

Study the process in deep, implement effective operating system contineusly...Continues implementation followed by contineus study will give good result. Dont apply,6Sigma,and other systems blindly...

first we did proceess flow chart, then we have to check and then we have to take call on that

Just one additional: everybody know what is Cp/Cpk, Have You ever tried Cpm ? Also known as the Taguchi capability index. Cpm is a variant of the Cp and Cpk capability indexes. If sigma is very very good but Your distribution is shifted Cp is...

1 By using effective SPC
2 Customer/ consumer needs and specifications should be set as standards to be achieved'
Sampath Kumar Kannan  |  Supported idea  "By using effective SPC"  |  1 year ago
I agree Ms. Mridula, but, what after post production and post sales. I think this is a healthy trend which is starting off lately. Let it be a design change or a defective material used in production, instead of leaving the customers to mend for...
amit deshpande  |  Added idea  "Designing for test conditions"  |  1 year ago
Well trial and error is one method, but if something like a break or an accelerator fails the results could be fatal. This is where six sigma methodology should be brought in. One has to really think through all the failure modes. FMEA would help...

Implement Q M S in all seriousness this automatically includes aplying S P C, customer feedback, comprehensive testing  etc etc. The mistake occurs when seemingly small errors from design acceptance to material testing are taken lightly and...

1 No quick results
2 Considerable criticism on Lean Manufacturing
Chetan HG  |  Supported idea  "No quick results"  |  2 years ago
I partly agree with you on the "No Quick results" part. But I am sorry to disagree on your point that keeping workforce idle is going to be difficult. THe whole idea behind lean is to ensure continuous flow and minimum idle time. AS far as...
jairaj shyam prasad  |  Added idea  "No quick results"  |  2 years ago
There will no quick results when ever lean manufacturing methods are implemented.normally lean manufacturing will get success in areas like car/air craft manufacturing industries where there will be definite orders and normally will be limited...

hi Chethan, ur point is well taken.yes u r right in saying lean manufacturing should be implemented by taking care of all inevitable troubles.but, i personnaly believe that we are still not very keen/instant/open for any new methods / concepts at...

1 By reducing re-work and producing right product at right time
2 Achieve a positive Return On Investment
R.Rajkumar  |  Added idea  "By reducing re-work and producing right product at right time"  |  1 year ago
Process control normally tries to reduce the defects per batch or lot.Hence by doing this it forbids the entire system or part of the system to perform additional re-work operations which in-turn reduces the cost of manufacturing. Moreover...
Rajesh Kamal  |  Added idea  "Achieve a positive Return On Investment"  |  1 year ago
Manufacturers are faced with having to satisfy customers while operating profitably in spite of fluctuating consumer demand, strict government regulations, raw material variability, and capacity constraints. With Process Controls applied in these...

Why ca n’t we contain Inflation which other developed nations find it easier to do?   Inflation is the general rise in price levels. It is matter of previlages and authority that is mismatched that lead to loss in value of the currency which had been our problem for long where our currency now is so undervalued and is loosing it as a pattern for long time. It all emerges, let us forget about the standard routes of raising rates or restricting money supply or even creating autostabilizers there is a fundamental reason why we have inflation far beyond what may be required by our growth and employment. Suppose if one get an electric connection, one need to also buy an inverter to get sustained power. If one need to buy a car one need to also spend on extra demand of services every  half year. If one need to go to an office to get anything now(not now I presume) one need to spend extra income to get it to functional levels.  So on and so forth goes the extra income required to meet the...

Planning nitty-gritty processes is a need to tame Inflation. Suppose if one go to an Office to get some work done, if the person is forced to go back many time to make his task achieved instead of just ones and in short time, huge bills get run in the form of transportation, fuel, food etc;. These are not optimal consumption pattern rather wasted consumption, for a function that can be achieved in a short while taking long time to complete. These extra consumption require unnecessary infrastructure and resources like extra manpower, extra road and transportation facilities. The extra manpower again creates suboptimal consumption where demand for goods and services gets inflated leading to price hikes and inflation. Suppose only optimal consumption through mandated performances in short while can nullify the extraconsumption component in an economy and can lead to optimal consumption and no inflation since wasted consumption and over demand for this is avoided. Take for example, in...

CES 2012: The top 7 phones at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show By Barb Dybwad, Tecca | Today in Tech  – It's all about Windows Phone and Android at this year's event Whereas last year's Consumer Electronics Show was all about Android , the surprise mindshare leader at CES 2012 is Microsoft's Windows Phone mobile operating system. After completely reinventing the artist formerly known as Windows Mobile in late 2010, the company fleshed out and polished up the OS with the current Windows Phone 7.5 iteration. Thanks to a $1 billion partnership with Finnish giant Nokia early last year, as well as strong continued partnerships with handset makers HTC Samsung, the Windows Phone ecosystem is set to finally come into its own in 2012. Despite not dominating the show floor to the extent it did last year, Google's Android mobile operating system nevertheless managed a strong showing at CES 2012. Motorola announced a brace of powerful smartphones with the Droid Razr Maxx and the Droid 4...

A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench , head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him.   “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.  After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”  He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!  “I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out...

I NSPIRATION GEMS   Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and choices today!   This is a story of an elderly carpenter who had been working for a contractor for many many years. He had built many beautiful houses but now as he was getting old, he wanted to retire and lead a leisurely life with his family. So, he goes to the contractor and tells him about his plan of retiring. The contractor feels sad at the prospect of losing a good worker but agrees to the plan because the carpenter had indeed become too fragile for the tough building work. But as a last request, he asks the old carpenter to construct just one last house.   The old man agrees and starts working but his heart was not in his work any more. He had lost the motivation towards work. So, he resorted to shoddy workmanship and constructed the house half-hearted. After the house was built, the contractor handed over the front...
