A brand is born out of a quality product that sells like hot cakes. Definitely, product is important but a product is not a product if it does not have a brand that it builds over a period of time and graduates from 'producthood' to ' brandhood'.
Akshay Rastogi  |  Argues in support of  "Brand"  |  1 year ago
I feel that Brand plays major role when you want people to come forward and give a try to your products. If we talk about FMCG products, if HUL or P&G comes out with some new product, we'll be doubtful but the trust factor for the brand will...

The 'Nirma' success story of how an Indian Entrepreneur took on the big MNCs and rewrote the rules of business : It was in 1969 that Dr. Karsanbhai Patel started Nirma and went on to create a whole new segment in the Indian domestic detergent market.During that time the domestic detergent market only had the premium segment and there were very few companies , mainly the MNCs , which were into this business. Karsanbhai Patel used to make detergent powder in the backyard of his house in Ahmedabad and then carry out door to door selling of his hand made product. He gave a money back guarantee with every pack that was sold.Karsanbhai Patel managed to offer his detergent powder for Rs. 3 per kg w...

2sheetal jadhav:- i am really sorry but the fact is even the company people are versed with the thought abt surrogate marketing its a primary fact in every field try and check u will find every branded company doing the same stuff trust me
siddivineetkumar  |  Argues in support of  "ethical"  |  4 months ago
it is ethical in only certain products and has its own profits as well as side effects once the brand name is well versed to the market then there is a chance of losing the image of the parent product please tell me if i am wrong
Sheetal Jadhav  |  Argues in support of  "not ethical"  |  2 years ago
I too agree with you,  The very purpose of banning advertisements today is defeated by surrogate advertising. Here a different product is promoted using an already established brand name. Such advertisements help in contribute to brand recall....

As you pass by North Mumbai’s busy Andheri Link Road, a gigantic billboard of Avatar catches the eye. James Cameron’s world of Pandora inhabited by the Na’vi with its brilliant blues, beckons as you crane your neck trying to sweep in the huge visual in one glance. The Avatar billboard is 10,000 sq feet – the biggest ever for a movie – and will be up there for the next two weeks. Since it’s part of a package, the exact...
