Mobile marketing helps only when the message is sent repeatedly. Otherwise the receiver would forget about the message or delete it. Also it is a random way of marketing without focusing on the right audience. Regards, Anna George. Web Analyst....

When there is a big debate on unsolicited calls on the mobile, it can be infered there is a natural barrier to Mobile Marketing. In such a scenario, calling mobile Marketing the next big thing is like sailing against the natural flow of water.
Nagesh Mekala  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  4 years ago
Yes I agree with the both arguments. Here we are not talking about Mobile Internet Zone. If we need to go for this Internet facility we need to have GPRS, and the handset must n should  support for that. Most of the mobile phones are used here...

Tips for better apllication of Mobile in the marketing field Build your database the right way People want privacy so don't take phone nos. from wherever you get, ask them to fill the form an according to their willingness take their nos.    Use a dedicated short code Use dedicated short codes to keep the brans intact. These may be quiet pricy at times. Understand the need The present market ' consumer is the king ' is the scenario. Let the consumer understand the need of your product don't impose the product on the customer, this might end in some disaster. Respect the consumer A consumer’s handset is a trusted personal device and a forum for personal expression, and is a private space. W...

I came across this article by James Briggs some time back.... It gives a good overview of mobile marketing, what can be used in reality and especially the so called “fantasies”, which appear with some irony not to be fantasies. Those who doubt that mobile marketing hasn’t made headway might be way behind from reality.. The old saying that knowledge is power holds true for many facets in life. And as we are now learning, it is particularly important for consumers and advertisers in the world of mobile marketing. It’s no secret that mobile marketing is effective. It’s also no secret that it can be expensive, particularly for small business owners looking to compete with powerhouse retailers e...

I want to share with you a blog from Mark Logan Bemomobi who had wrote comprehensively about the principles of mobile marketing. He pointed that there are four pillars of mobile marketing : 1. Embrace User Control 2. Get Personal 3. Optimize for Mobile 4. Provide Value I want to add another point which i found its the real fundamental of mobile marketing, its the concept of permission. I believe the success factor of mobile marketing must evolve around the idea of permission beside the 4 pillars that Mark had pointed out. All our mobile marketing concepts that we had executed so far were built on the above principles. There are tremendous differences between clients' businesses and their re...

A brand is a name that distinguishes a product from others. It has its own identity in the market with its symbol and tagline. When we talk about brands in rural markets some of the names which come to our mind are Rajdoot Bikes,Ghari Detergent,Dolly TV and chic shampoo etc Findings indicated that good quality, value for money and sense of identity with brand were likely to act as key determinants of a FMCG brand in rural India. Better finish and good looks, recommendations from retailers were found be key determinants of a consumer durable brand in rural India. Lets throw some light on agro inputs also like pesticides, fertilizers, manure, seeds, tractors, harvesters, pumps and threshers etc. In this regards marketers are following market specialization strategy.HYV seeds are also becoming popular among the farmers. It is a known fact in rural areas that price plays an important role in rural markets for purchasing the products. Now the New Era of marketing is changing the...

Free Style Marketing How many times have you been to a business conference that guided the world to sell things for free? Well, if you never heard about one, then you need to know about Nokia World 2007 Conference where Chris Anderson, Editor in Chief talks to the world referring to this. The campaign broke all the traditional rules of selling a service product. As per Chris, the new way to sell today has changed focus from the actual product to the complementary product or supporting product that could enhance the selling of original product. Chris talks about the new selling concept of 0 + 2 = 2 in contrary to the old concept of 1+1 = 2. Now, what the hell does he mean by this Maths..? Consider Company A that sells both - the products and the services on the same products. As per the traditional earning model Company A earned Rs 1 revenue from selling the product and Rs 1 revenue from the services on the product. The modern way of selling sacrifices the revenue on product to earn...

What could be wrong with the Stock Market? Today, the 1 standard deviation event occurred, Sensex numbers.  Economy is predicted to grow at 10% next fiscal. Credit market working ok. No subprime troubles.  Industrial numbers grew around 9% till this quarter compared to 7.8% last fiscal same time. American numbers very encouraging. Showing  median of 20% less trouble than last year. What could be the explanation of the markets heading south, when it is supposed to give a 0.02% daily return. The reason can be the unprecedented  upward movement of the  Dow.  The Quants  there might  not have expected the sudden surge in the index there. The hedge funds and mutual funds  there depends heavily on leverage.  For every 1 dollar of invested funds they can leverage beyond 10 times that. Then they short certain quantity of investment with the long position say like 70/30, 70 long and 30 short or 120/40 the same way. If their Quant models misbehave like there short positions start loosing...
