From satellite communications to cell phones, to keyless entry in cars, wireless is rapidly becoming the most profound technology of our age. However, unlike other prominent new developments such as plasma-screen televisions and iPODs, wireless is a background technology. It is a basic fabric for how electronic devices work together and, by freeing us from cables and wires, it is changing the way we use these devices. Try to imagine for a moment the television-viewing experience without that ubiquitous wireless device which we all take for granted — the remote control. Whether we notice it or not, wireless technology is everywhere and is changing the way we live, work and play. One such wir...

Most of us see airport security as a pain. Some of us even feel violated. When you see the below pictures, you'll understand why they want our cell phones through the x-ray machine. If you get asked to test your cell phone at the airport, this is the reason. Cell phone guns have arrived.  And they are real.  Beneath the digital phone face is a .22 caliber handgun capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession using the standard telephone keypad. European law enforcement officials are stunned by the discovery of these deadly decoys. They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe. Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular ce...

I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAR THESE ARE TRUE 4 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE COULD DO   There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:  FIRST  Emergency  The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is  112. While Wi-Fi has been working great in most downtown areas where antennas and computers are in close proximity but the Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough to cover a wide area or penetrate through brick apartment buildings. Wi-Fi systems have not been delivering on its promised performance. Hartford officials have been forced to put its municipal internet project on hold and hope WiMAX will serve as an alternative.... There are about 2 million broadband users in India today, and analysts say that the number will grow to 30 million users by 2010. Since the most vexing problem of providing broadband access is the last mile, WiMAX is seen as crucial in reaching these numbers.....sensing this oppu...

By Lori Bongiorno How much radiation does your cell phone emit? It's easy to find out the answer thanks to the Environmental Working Group's new online guide to cell phone emissions . The non-profit research and advocacy group ranked over 1,000 different cell phones according to radiation levels. It looked at the publicly available, but difficult to find, specific absorption rate (SAR) for each phone. SAR is a measure of how much radiation is absorbed by the body when the phone is sending a signal to the network. (Your phone only emits radiation when you talk or text.) The jury is still out on whether cell phone radiation is harmful to human health , but it certainly won't hurt to limit your exposure to cell phone radiation when you can. Several research teams from different countries report a higher risk of developing brain and salivary gland cancer among high-volume, long-term cell phone users compared to people who use cell phones less often, according to EWG. For example, a...

Rahul Dravid announced his retirement and suddenly we find a new member in the team. Some people think he should have retired earlier while other say he should have continued playing. But all in all I find his decision of making space for someone new right. We need the 'new' generation to come u and replace old before it is too late. This is not only applicable to the game but everywhere. Yes specially politics. During the recent elections when the elephant was run over by the cycle we all knew its going to be one of them. It rarely makes  any difference who it is.  In cricket the selector don't want to let go the experienced and in politics the inexperienced do not want to jump in. How often do we find a new bee out of an unknown background coming up for a change. If we ask our-self would we be up to participate in the dirty job? I presume that perhaps the answer is 'NO' My question is how can we convince, teach and encourage the new generation to participate in the process of...
