Hi all, I am about to launch my career in IT Services and I need to make a choice, .NET or JAVA, plz help me out.

Hi Gagan, there are more number of projects in .Net and  openings too, so .Net to me stands tall when it comes to opportunities. Also microsoft is known for bringing every possible stuff to their developers so .net.

I do think there is better option of growth in Java than that of .Net. And Future of Java is also better. So, its better to learn Java. Of course, his experience in .net will help him a lot.

According to my view its better to stick to .Net and after having profile of 5 yr with .net means the person must be a developer analyst. after few more year of experience he must be a Software Analyst and here languages are no boundation.. you...

there is a editing in your answer :: wrong --      java -d src *.java must use -- javac -d src*.java thanks

javac -d src java files   i.e. package p1.p2; class A {  }   * create a folder say src in current directory where you want to place classes mapped with package. * run the following command.   java -d src *.java   It will create folder hierarchy...

It's good to change platform unless ur comfortable working with the new platform that ur gonna work on. And, also do check out the scope of the platform that you wanna work on rather, taking a leap from the grounds from where ur are working...
