Most companies are now up to IPV6. But the question is, do we need to acquire these days despite of economical crisis? According from source, IPV4 is becoming much aware that most networks might be congested specially on security management by the year 2011. Other reference that might help is on this link http://www.cu.ipv6tf.org/literatura/chap12.pdf .

Ofcourse, if a new technology has come up then we need to implement that as soon as possible for benefit of all.Talking about IPv6 positives,it has a much larger address space than IPv4. This results from the use of a 128-bit address, where IPv4...

The OSI model: Memorize it. It's almost a cliché, but understanding it is critical. TCP/IP concepts: Learn to think in binary and get a firm grasp on bitmasks, subnetting, gateways (like the 'default gateway') and how addresses are constructed (the network portion, the host portion, etc). Stacks: Read about how the network stack is implemented on hosts. Get a good feel for what each component (the NIC, firmware, device drivers, the OS, etc) is responsible for. Once you understand this, troubleshooting is easy. Layer 2: Learn how switches operate and how they're different from hubs and routers. Understand bridging, and get a general idea of what Spanning Tree Protocol does. Learn the differe...

'You cannot be serious! Why would any organization want to lose management control of its own resources?' That was my network manager response several years ago to the idea of outsourcing. However, computer networking is a dynamic area, and some strategies that were unthinkable yesterday can become very attractive today. This is not an unusual phenomenon; change is only extraordinary when it happens to you! So why has outsourcing of network and desktop management emerged as a reliable and cost-effective option for modern networks? Let's start with some figures first. According to the Gartner Group the outsourcing market in general will grow from $18.2 billion in 1995 to $42.6 billion by the...

Win98, WinME and Win2000) If you have two phone lines in your home and want to use them both to dial out, you can use MultiLink, which will effectively double your connection speed. Create a dial-up connection like your normally would. Right click on the icon and select Properties Click on the Multilink tab Click on Use additional devices Click on the Add Click on the other modem you would like to use If your ISP allows, you can use the same phone number, otherwise enter an additional phone number to dial. You should now connect with both modems. You can confirm this by opening up your dial up connection in the System Tray after you connect.

If Windows ever notifies you about a weak signal, it probably means your connection isn't as fast or as reliable as it could be. Worse, you might lose your connection entirely in some parts of your home. If you're looking to improve the signal for your wireless network, try some of these tips for extending your wireless range and improving your wireless network performance. Position your wireless router (or wireless access point) in a central location. When possible, place your wireless router in a central location in your home. If your wireless router is against an outside wall of your home, the signal will be weak on the other side of your home. Don't worry if you can't move your wireless...

Hi Friends, I am sharing with the reviews of IBM on work culture, growth prospects salary, done by their employees. Please share your views. A Project Manager wrote: What I like about IBM: "IBM offers a very flexible working environment. In most cases, no one will ask you what time you come or go from office. Neither the logs of the swipe card will be analyzed to take some action against you in normal circumstances. In special circumstances, the company can even allow you to work from home. No blocking of internet or phones . All in all, you are "not" working in a jail. It has a wealth of knowledge..... " What I don't like about IBM: "Sometimes you feel that there are too many processes to follow. The company is so huge that it is a challenge to make people aware of existing processes. I have often seen it happening that sometimes small groups within IBM try to develop their own processes, often unaware that such a best practice already exists and can be leveraged. Saying no is perhaps the most important productivity tool that exists. Saying no is an art. It is also perhaps the most difficult thing to do for most people. I used to dread the occasions where I knew I will have to say no and I used to prepare for such situations for days. Now, I almost look forward to saying no to people and I actually enjoy the process! Find out how the change happened. 1. You are doing everyone a favour by saying no. Whenever you are saying NO to someone, remember that it is for their benefit! By saying no, you are • Giving the person an opportunity to look for someone who can do the job better. • Avoiding negative feelings about the person. 2. Visualize the alternative (to saying no) in vivid detail. • You will feel bad and will curse yourself for accepting the task. • You will do a bad job. • You will hate the person for putting this on to you. • The person will hate you for doing a bad job. • You should not have said yes, if you were not going to do a good...

Most IT project evaluations are like the tail wagging the dog. They begin with IT strategy, rather than the goals of the business. In fact, IT strategy should be the third link in a chain that begins with business strategy, which in turn governs the product or service strategy, which then drives IT strategy. Lets understand this with a mid size CRM company Business strategy: Increase the customer base by 20 percent in the next year by providing increased functionality such as business operations analytics and executive dashboards. Product strategy: Develop an alliance with a business intelligence (BI) software company to add analytical capabilities to the CRM software. IT strategy: Create a new software platform that allows for easy integration with the BI software company and others. IT projects: Develop a Web services–based platform that offers universal data exchange and messaging between the CRM software and the BI software. While this hierarchy reveals whether IT projects...

Hello friends, Sharing you with you an interesting blog posted on TalentEquity.in about how to be cheerful at workplace. Kindly share your views on this. "This is the beginning of a new year and is a right time to take stock of your work life. We take many resolutions to make our personal and professional life better and more disciplined. Well, I am not going to discuss on resolutions and their follow ups. However one thing which is very important at work is to be cheerful and happy. This not only set positive vibration around you but also establishes you as being someone who is in control, smooth, relaxed, confident and mature. So be cheerful all the time. What if a project has failed, boss has given not-so-good feedback. What if you have not got on-site opportunity this year. Salary increment and promotion is still pending. It’s still no reason to loose your smile. Whatever your situation is things will get better for sure. Actually maintaining a cheerful and happy outlook is...
