I was unaware of high corruption level in bangalore. It was till my collegues bike was lost and he went to the Police station to complain. And there it was, his bike was lying right there in the police station.. The Policemen told him to pay 10,000 or he would not get his bike back.. He was terrified but he told he will complain to higher authorities and the policemen laughed.. They said just one thing.. "Right now it is 10,00.. go to the higher authorities and the price will rise higher!!".. Shocked and surprised he went to the atm and brought the money and got his bike back.. Is this the situatuion everywhere?? I told my friend that too is responsible for this corruption.. To this he said, Don't think that you can fight these people who are backed up by even more powerful policticiains, or you might end up in terrible situations!!

Importance of Distance Education in India Asif Ahmed After independence, India had made tremendous progress in the field of education, though mostly quantitative in nature. Earlier, education was available only to the elites in society, and a large majority of poor and marginalized people remained illiterate. Political considerations have an important role in the expansion of higher education, especially at the state level. In a democratic society, even the strong governments find it very difficult to resist such pressures and are compelled to succumb to the same. These considerations have led to fast expansion of higher education in our country, which in turn, have adverse impact upon its quality....

Traditionally retailing in India can be traced to the emergence of the neighborhood Kirana stores catering to the convenience of the consumers, an era of government support for rural retail: Indigenous franchise model of store chains run by Khadi Village Industries Commission, 1980s experienced slow change as India began to open up economy. Textiles sector with companies like Bombay Dyeing, Raymond's, S Kumar's and Grasim first saw the emergence of retail chains. Later Titan successfully created an organized retailing concept and established a series of showrooms for its premium watches. The latter half of the 1990s saw a fresh wave of entrants with a shift from Manufactures to Pure Retailers. For example Food World, Subhiksha and Nilgiris in food and FMCG; Planet M and Music World in music; Crossword and Fountainhead in books. Post 1995 onwards saw an emergence of shopping centers, mainly in urban areas, with facilities like car parking targeted to provide a complete destination...
