Google Wave with new advanced features is definitely the way of the future. However, when it evolves in the next 2 to 3 years only then will users be able to appreciate it 's worth/effectiveness. It could be the next big revolution after email.

Microsoft architecture chief: Google Wave 'anti-web' Email-IM hybrid 'too complicated' By Gavin Clarke in San Francisco • Get more from this author Posted in Developer , 8th June 2009 23:39 GMT Microsoft's chief software architect has branded Google's Wave collaboration effort as 'anti-web'. Ray Ozzie told the Churchill Club in California last week that Wave violates a principle he currently holds dear - that complexity is the enemy of the web. Ozzie said the open web relies on open data formats and protocols, not opaque packages and payloads being tunneled across the web - yes, that was Microsoft saying that. He did not explain exactly how he believed Wave to be complex. Instead he suggest...

Microsoft is clearly loosing its hold on the enterprise and has reason to be scared. I believe that Google wave is a very innovative service and will transform IT as we know it today. Personally, I would ignored warnings from popular figures like...

Viktor, I agree with you. Google Wave attacks the Office Suite of products, THE top money maker for Microsoft. So they have to do FUD: Fear, Uncertainity, Doubt in the minds of the consumer.

Google Wave as infrastructure Written by vhokstad http://www.linkedin.com/in/vhokstad It's new but not new All of the things in the Wave demo are possible without Wave. The interesting thing about Wave is not so much the application, but the infrastructure, the protocol and the underlying concepts. Many limited collaboration apps have offered various subsets of the Wave functionality, for example, and the superficial functionality can be built using existing technology, without fancy new protocols and clients etc. But that's missing the point. Wave is interesting because the infrastructure makes it extremely open-ended.  A lot of people have been comparing Wave to e-mail. That's missing the...

6 reasons Why Google Wave will Change PLM Collaboration  It’s impossible to speak about collaboration these days, in my opinion,  without touching Google Wave . I analyzed multiple presentations, demos, videos, analyzes and would like to present my take on the 6 top reasons as to why Wave will change today’s PLM collaboration world.   1.    Real Time Everything happens at the same time. You are typing, uploading, searching. You can be absolutely synchronized with your colleagues and other people involved into this collaboration process. Real-time is important because in today’s life, many forms of asynchronous collaboration and/or communication create more problems rather than benefits – an...

I think in Google wave one can see more than a new generation of email cum wikis cum Twitter and groupwares. Because it can feed a lot of things like a blog, a web page and a Twitter, we will be seeing a new way to create content which is...

Way back in 1897 William Faulkner said, “ I believe that man will not merely endure; he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among the creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of kindness and compassion .” I’m not talking about anything new here; it’s just a reminder of what we all knew and seem to have forgotten. We seem to have been taken in by the sheer pace of things around us – the violence, the economy driven work culture, the information boom, etc etc – you know them all – and the media has only added up to the pace. We need to look around us. Where have all courtesies gone ? Been to a gathering lately ? This is a wake-up call , a reminder !! We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibres connect us with our fellow human beings; and along those fibres, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects . We need to re-learn to give; so that some of us eventually receive. It's the...
