How to Become a Person Everyone Wants to Know 1 Observe. Take notice of how you act and how others act. 2 Listen. Instead of talking about how cool you are ask others questions. When you show interest in others they end up wanting to know more about you. 3 Be more interesting. Do things differently, mix your life up! If you always say hi to the same people talk to different ones. 4 Save it. If someone doesn't ask you something then keep it to yourself. Unless they've told you something about what you want to say. 5 Lay back and relax. Don't get all worked up over people. This really turns them off as to wanting to know you. 6 Be happy. People want to be around people that make them feel hap...

Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever. From the bottom of my heart I wish each one of my frnds,.....a wonderful year ahead........

 Exploitation
Jaygopal Raghavan  |  Argues in support of  "Exploitation"  |  1 year ago
I dont think so. With the abundance of talent available for a particular job, employees know that an employee doesnt make or break the organisation so there is nos erious effort made by companies to retain talent and the hardworking employee.
Anoop Dhopte  |  Argues in support of  "Retention"  |  1 year ago
Perhaps after the economic debacle post 2008-09 companies have now realized that employees are their biggest assets and not mere resources. This change in mindset from resource to asset is a big focus shift..
ANAND M  |  Argues in support of  "Exploitation"  |  1 year ago
I agree strongly on this....today employees work like donkeys...with very less scope for fun. ILO has made international working hours to be 8 can be extended to max 12 hrs...but the scene is different here. Employers make their employees to work...

I can comment on doctors only . They deserve much more pay than they get from the Govt . Reasons being their effort , number of job hours per week , and being not allowed to do their private practice acording to protocol in number of institutions.

Salary in the Govt sector may be lesser vis a vis private sector but think of the official and unofficial income, favours etc which out beat the income of Private sector.

It may not be that easy. Still, it is not impossible to get the right job provided one is equipped with all the requisites in right proportion. Be optimistic and *ve.

Steps to take in creating a powerful and rewarding 2012: Write yourself a letter describing your dreams and desires for 2012. Include all the aspects of your life—your business, vacations and new opportunities you would like to explore. Keep adding to the list for a few days. Our thoughts will keep multiplying when we give ourselves the freedom to be honest and not pass any judgment on our vision. When you feel your list is complete, create different categories for your ideas (business, vacations, social events, family and friends). Plug the ideas into the different categories. You will be amazed what thoughts surface. Congratulations, you now have your dream list.  Choose both a big and a small dream you would like to accomplish. Plan the two steps you will take this week for each dream. Remember, as my mother always said, “Rome was not built in a day.” Taking time during this quiet time to plan for a powerful and rewarding 2012 is a beautiful gift you are giving yourself.  ENJOY...

We are hired for our ability to use our intellectual resources - to find solutions, suggest the road ahead, develop plans, chart courses of action etc etc. The boss is looking for relevant, practical acceptable plans which are both effective efficient. To a human being, ‘thinking’ is hard work. Given a choice the ‘head’ is a procrastinator. It will look for the simplest way out. Employees come in various shades – from those who don’t want to, or cannot think, or lack the ability to innovate and think fresh, to those who seem to do wonders every time. So what happens – confronted with an issue, the former is most likely to look for precedence, dig old files presentations, google for templates, activate his / her networks etc till he has a start point. Thereafter it is the familiar story of Controls C V. The first time this gets the approval of the boss, we are comfortably on the road downhill.      Some of our subordinates fresh out of college have the ability to start with, but...

Know Where a Wine Really Comes From by Jim Gordon The mantra of real estate buyers everywhere -- "location, location, location" -- is almost as important for wine buyers. While certain foods and beverages carry a general notation of their origin, like Idaho potatoes and Sumatra coffee, wine can narrow the notion down to the precise plot of land where the grapes grew. Governments in virtually all winemaking countries have made it illegal to cheat consumers by putting misleading information about a wine's origin on a label. They needed to, because a minority of dishonest winemakers is constantly tempted to make more money by tricking the consumer. They make a wine from inexpensive grapes grown in a low-quality growing region, then pass it off as something pedigreed and expensive. Most wine producers are honest, of course, but it's still important to know what you're buying. Look carefully at the wine label to learn at least the minimum. The front label of most U.S. wines usually...
