A Wipro employee, G Ram mohan from Hydrabad filed a court case in Bangalore against his boss of forcing him to resign from his job. It was earlier reported that Ram Mohan had complained to the police about the harassment, but he said that no action was taken by them. In the complaint, Mohan told the court that he was an employee of Wipro Technologies, Electronics City, from December 3,2007, till his services were terminated on March 10 this year. Mohan alleged that his bosses made him run personal errands and humiliated him. When he opposed this, he was being threatened and sought his resignation, even trying to get him (to) sign a blank paper. Also, kept him locked in a room for several hours. Upon refusing to sign on blank paper, he was threatened to inform NASSCOM (National Association of Software Companies) and ensure that he won't get job elsewhere. The complaint mentions that the offences committed caused him a lot of mental tension and also resulted in his pregnant wife...

The government has introduced a new central civil services cadre called the Indian Corporate Law Services (ICLS) to create an army of experts who would be involved in corporate law making and its enforcement in the country. This gives a new service option to those who qualify the toughest entrance test to get into government service. The government would train the officers at the newly-set up Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), a policy think tank, before placing them in various offices of the ministry of corporate affairs. The recruits will be trained in subjects like management, law, accounting, business finance and economics before being deputed in various agencies under the ministry. Now the ministry gets officers through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations. UPSC recruits people from the field of law, chartered accounting and cost auditing.
