Agree,brand is something which has a huge popularity among customers because of its high quality and if they start giving these huge discounts then there is a risk as customers can also think that may be the quality is reduced and people are not...

The luxury brands command vey high premium or margin, does not get much affected by recession grows with time ( albeit at very low rate) but the segment being very low ( in numbers) the overall gain is still very minuscule.

I have never understood people who shun and malign the concept of luxury. If we think broadly and stop defining luxury in terms of expensive brands, luxury would mean a pleasure out of the ordinary allowed to oneself. The pleasure of experiencing beauty excellence.
