About "prevention of road accidents in INdia" topic:

Everymorning we find 2 or 3 Road Accidents cases in India. Accidents may be in city region or on National Highways. Particularly if we talk about accidents on National Highways, where people use to drive vehicles on their own styles, they dont follow the traffic rules. To prevent road accidents on National Highways our Govt can do following:

(1) Appoint Check points at the range of 50KM & check each vehicle that driver is drunkard or not

(2) Govt can appoint Emergency Medical Police & Fire Service at the range of 10kms like in Gujarat 108 is working.

(3) Check points should be opened for 24*7

(4) Strict Punishment for those who break the rules & regulation

1. The Governments should make the rules and tests for issue of Driving Licences more strict. Issuing of licence should not be simply based on the ability to operate the vehicle, but the aspiring driver should be thorough with the driving rules...

Road safety is based on three 'E's- Engineering, Education and Enforcement. As far as Engineering is concerned, our highway designs are up to the mark as percentage of acidents that occur due to bad roads is only about 5% of the total accidents....

Why Traffic Violation should be the Rule - not Exception - in India? K S VENKATARAMAN A few months back, a friend had come from Singapore. The hotel management had given a car for our use. He had not come to India earlier. Just within five minutes, after watching the style and behavior of the driver, he asked, “Are you not at all afraid of the cops?” The driver promptly replied, “Why should I? If he catches for anything, what is needed is only Rs.50. He is going to get it from me and go back like a dog.” A few months back, the traffic police had booked the son of the British Premier for traffic rule violation and had taken him to custody. The Premier went in person to the police station, te...

Sir, As far as construction is conserned it is OK. But Indian road users are not matured so that they follow the traffic rules properly and give no scope for sounding the horn. Hence some light in this aspect is needed.
SB DIKSHIT  |  Argues in support of  "nil"  |  3 years ago
In western countries blowing  horn is supposed  a faulty driving and some  places it is banned, because there are lesser rather no one without vehicle moves on roads, secondly there are defined lanes for one and other way,and different lanes for...

Steps to be taken for Preventing Road Accidents   1.    Most important method to bring down accidents is strict enforcement of speed limits. 90 % of accidents can be avoided by strict enforcement of speed limits. 2.    Heavy Penalty should be imposed on ALL those who cross speed limits. If this is strictly implemented, nobody will dare to go at high speed. 3.    Existing speed limits should be brought down further. 4.    Heavy penalty should be imposed for those who cause accidents. 5.    Tamper proof speed controllers should be made mandatory for all heavy vehicles. New heavy vehicles should have built in tamper proof speed controllers. 6.    Two wheeler manufacturers should be asked to de...

Thanks to all, I agree with you. Please mention the ways, i mean what youth should do to increase road safety & preventing the accidents whether as a part of society or as an individual.
John Jacob  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  1 year ago
As long as the youths' are not ready to obey traffic laws, there is no role for the youth in road safety. Their role starts with "their willingness to obey traffic rules".
Muhammed jabir rifai  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  1 year ago
I believe that raising youth awareness of road safety is one of the most effective ways of preventing traffic accidents. Research shows that young people are a vulnerable group of road users because of cognitive, attitudinal, behavioral, cultural...

Facts about "Jana Gana Mana" - Just a thought for the National Anthem! How well do you know about it?     I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata",    whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India! Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country.   Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.   To begin with, India's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of  England when they visited India in 1919.   To honour their visit Pandit Motilal  Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and  Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!! !)   In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha etc. were mentioned. None of  the  princely states were recognised which are integral parts of India...

SkyDrive allow users to upload their files to the computing cloud, and then access them from a web browser. Publicly-shared files do not require a Windows Live ID to access. Windows Live SkyDrive The service currently offers 5GB, with a maximum upload file size of 50MB. Up to five files can be uploaded each time. Optionally, an ActiveX tool can be installed to allow drag-and-drop uploading from Windows Explorer. On August 1, 2007, the service was expanded to a wider audience. Shortly after on August 9, 2007 Windows Live Folders was renamed...

Hi Friends, I am sharing with the reviews of IBM on work culture, growth prospects salary, done by their employees. Please share your views. A Project Manager wrote: What I like about IBM: "IBM offers a very flexible working environment. In most cases, no one will ask you what time you come or go from office. Neither the logs of the swipe card will be analyzed to take some action against you in normal circumstances. In special circumstances, the company can even allow you to work from home. No blocking of internet or phones . All in all, you are "not" working in a jail. It has a wealth of knowledge..... " What I don't like about IBM: "Sometimes you feel that there are too many processes to follow. The company is so huge that it is a challenge to make people aware of existing processes. I have often seen it happening that sometimes small groups within IBM try to develop their own processes, often unaware that such a best practice already exists and can be leveraged.
