Hi
Internet is a mass media today with globally diversified content and does not go recognize the restrictions of a culture or geographic region or a boundary.
Though imperative, it is increasingly difficult to regulate the internet.
What austrailia is doing is trying to regulate the content available in their country. I believe they are within their rights to the same.
If a country allows tech giants to do business in their country, the same country also has the right to regulate their ways of business .
Its very obvious some entities opposing these move and the reasons are very obvious :
1) IT giants / e-commerce based companies -
Their revenue largely depends on web- based media and applications
2) NGOs/ Human Rights / Non - commercial entities -
For them the Internet based media is cheaper, more readily available than other and giving them better coverage than any other form. Hence the regulating the media or what is said as " Filtering the Internet " is going to hamper their operations in one way or the other
Just like an individual working in a small company, a large organization should also learn to realize their limitations and accept to work with available resources / restrictions etc.

Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are among many high-tech companies that have objected to the Australian government's plan to begin filtering Internet content.

I am not a techi but I feel 'filtering' is the biggest virus with which internet could ever be infected. Yes, there are some severe concerns like terror propaganda, children porn etc that should be dealt with all stringent measures that countries...

I realized the other day that creating a new company for the first time is a lot like whipping up a great pasta salad for the first time – you need a recipe, even though it may look simple. You know the basic ingredients, and you can visualize the results you want. Yet you may not be so sure where to start, and how to put it all together. More... http://short.to/22fo5 .

Social networking keeps on going crazy and many of us have managed to be online almost 24X7! Sharing on facebook, twitter or other places is fun for some and style for others and foe few of us it has become the way of life. This has brought the need for Smartphones and many of us in love with touch screens. iPhone and iPads are sold like crazy and so there are tons of apps available everywhere to do various things. I recently found this app which says " Walk Type Share "..At first I was like everyone does that then what is new in the app??!! It says "Walk Type Share is a messaging social networking application for iPhone and iPad to text message while walking and share through SMS, Facebook, Twitter, email and group messaging, using transparent keyboard with live camera background." I am not sure how is it good for us.. but new apps are worth a shot aren't they?? Whats your take on new apps coming up everyday..which ones do you recommend??

Security experts have discovered the biggest series of cyber attacks to date, involving the infiltration of the networks of 72 organizations including the United Nations, governments and companies around the world. The long list of victims in the five-year campaign include the governments of the United States, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Vietnam and Canada; the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); the International Olympic Committee (IOC); the World Anti-Doping Agency; and an array of companies, from defense contractors to high-tech enterprises. "What is happening to all this data ... is still largely an open question. However, if even a fraction of it is used to build better competing products or beat a competitor at a key negotiation (due to having stolen the other team's playbook), the loss represents a massive economic threat." Jim Lewis, a cyber expert with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, was briefed on the discovery by McAfee. He said it was...
