About "Retaining the Employees" topic:
Dear All,
The problem that the private life insurance companies are facing is the churning of the employees. The person who comes to collect the first premium is the face of the company, but he changes his job in few months and then he grabs the customer to the other company. The customer does not get proper service in this senario. Also the trust of the company will be reduced.
The new technologies are good, but the people using these technologies are very less, its the human touch that drives the insurance business and i believe that is the reason of LIC still being on the top.

Employee Retention vs. Turnover K S VENKATARAMAN Introduction The days, when as a rule the employees stayed in the same company till retirement and superannuation, are gone. In past it was normal that a person joined a company and did not even think of leaving it till last. The idea of loyalty to the employer or to the institution was so strong that even difficult working conditions could not goad the employees to leave the company on their own. Only if the company was closed, seeking employment somewhere else was thought of as unavoidable, unpleasant necessity. Apart from the loyalty factor, the employment market conditions also did not favor horizontal mobility of the employees. The diffe...

There is a vast difference in today’s employees as compared to the ones from yester years. Management and/or respective managers must take responsibility for their own employee retention. If they don't, they could be left without enough good...

I don't think this option. The purpose of taking a insurance will be defeated if the duration is reduced. You have other investment option to chose to make money faster.

Hi Friends, Last month I had a meeting with one of my old friends, who is now VP–HR in a fairly large IT setup. He informed me that he is planning to lay off a couple of hundred people in his company, in a phased manner. What surprised me was that he mentioned that out of them around 80% are ‘difficult employees’. I wondered aloud what was his definition of a ‘difficult employee’. What he told me was interesting and forms the basis of this post. “In every department/organization there are few people who are arrogant, demeaning (to others), insubordinate, not trustworthy, (always) cribbing and unproductive. And these employees are a huge drain for an organization in terms of wasted time, reduced productivity, inefficiency, and ultimately resulting in customer loss.” I again asked him as to why did the team, then not take precautions while hiring? He said these are traits and sometimes it is difficult to observe them during an interview. You get to know about them only from...

Hi Friends, I am sharing with the reviews of IBM on work culture, growth prospects salary, done by their employees. Please share your views. A Project Manager wrote: What I like about IBM: "IBM offers a very flexible working environment. In most cases, no one will ask you what time you come or go from office. Neither the logs of the swipe card will be analyzed to take some action against you in normal circumstances. In special circumstances, the company can even allow you to work from home. No blocking of internet or phones . All in all, you are "not" working in a jail. It has a wealth of knowledge..... " What I don't like about IBM: "Sometimes you feel that there are too many processes to follow. The company is so huge that it is a challenge to make people aware of existing processes. I have often seen it happening that sometimes small groups within IBM try to develop their own processes, often unaware that such a best practice already exists and can be leveraged.
