Due to changing business practices new and improved ways of managing it are coming into existence. The scientific studies are helping a lot for business development in terms of record management, retailing techniques, data mining, information gathering etc. I know that till now you might have understood that I am talking about the Radio Frequency Identification Process (RFID), which is definitely one of the hotter technologies and momentum continues to grow for its adoption by a number of companies in all sorts of applications. FID technology captures data using tiny tracking chips that are affixed to products. RFID applications range from potential areas such as security, manufacturing, lo...

'You Have to Jump in Now.' One of the common myths about RFID that needs to be debunked is that it is a now-or-never proposition. There is a false sense of urgency surrounding it. On the contrary, if logistics is not key to an organization's competitiveness, then you can afford to take a-wait-and-see stance. 'There Is No Middle Ground.' RFID is just one component of the latest generation of wireless supply-chain technologies -- Wi-Fi networking, PDAs, cell phones, global positioning systems and electronic sensors. But Wal-Mart's high-profile project has thrown the entire technology of automatic identification (Auto-ID) into the spotlight. This is a disservice to the technology. When compani...

By Rory Harrington Nano-based radio frequency ID (RFID) tags embedded in packaging could replace bar codes and make check-out queues a thing of the past, new research has said. A joint US-Korean project has come up with an inexpensive printable transmitter that, once implanted into packaging, could allow all items in a shopping trolley to be scanned simultaneously, while adjusting the total inventory of a store. More advanced versions would collect all the information about the contents of a shop in an instant, letting a retailer know where every package is at any time. The research from Rice University in collaboration with Gyou-jin Cho at Sunchon National University in Korea appears in th...

Rahul Dravid announced his retirement and suddenly we find a new member in the team. Some people think he should have retired earlier while other say he should have continued playing. But all in all I find his decision of making space for someone new right. We need the 'new' generation to come u and replace old before it is too late. This is not only applicable to the game but everywhere. Yes specially politics. During the recent elections when the elephant was run over by the cycle we all knew its going to be one of them. It rarely makes any difference who it is. In cricket the selector don't want to let go the experienced and in politics the inexperienced do not want to jump in. How often do we find a new bee out of an unknown background coming up for a change. If we ask our-self would we be up to participate in the dirty job? I presume that perhaps the answer is 'NO' My question is how can we convince, teach and encourage the new generation to participate in the process of...
