You can change the politician and political Candidates and make your vote more important ‘ Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section '49-O' that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone! Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called '49-O'. Why should you go and say 'I VOTE NOBODY'... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received '49-O' votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and wil...

Yes, we are responsible, as we do not exercise our duties properly and hence we dont have right to say (morally). DO our morals are still live ?? we need to ask ourselves.

When I was going through news paper and different article in net about 'Why NDA lost the battle'. People are saying that it is bcz of Advani but results show that last time, they were at 138, remained 15-20 seats behind, but this time the NDA, which fought the election without two major allies, the TDP and the BJD, still managed to get over 160 seats. So they did a great job according to them. I also somewhat agree with them. But if we start analyzing still why they fail, 1st thing come in to my mind is urban voters vote (Aam Aadmi Factor). This 'aam aadmi' image of the Congress party helped it to connect to the people more than ever. While its National Rural Employment Guarantee (NREG) sch...

Nowadays, I have seen so many postings, debates, ideates are on TOOSTEP portal, why it is so, because of election 2009. JUST have a picture of Indian politics and feel that you will be in developing country always, forever. Otherwise open your vote and elect a good person. JAGTE RAHO Really a class analogy.. An Old Story: The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs dances plays the summer away. Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold. Indian Version: The Ant works hard in the withering heat all s...

No, there should not be a holiday on the day of the election as both work and voting are important. Since you have to vote in your constituency, you just require half an hour to vote, so the day long holiday is unnecessary.

The following is a reproduction of from an article I wrote in 2004. 1. Harnessing the vast human resource in the country shall be the main objective. Most of the unrest and disharmony happening every where, may it be of social, political, various disruptions caused by actions and counter actions of different ethnic groups and communities turning into religious extremism, are due to the shift in the focus of life among the mass especially the village youth, and political are due to desperation fermenting of the prevailing situation that deprive them options and opportunities to grow up and lead a normal life. To alleviate it, the primary focus shall be on the uplift of the 750 odd million rural population, by providing them basic amenities such as a home to live, clean water, cheap electricity and fuel, primary healthcare, free basic education, effective public distribution system, good roads and other infrastructure, and a minimum assured income from agricultural or trade...
