About "SaaS: Opportunities and Challenges" topic:
Software as a service (SaaS) is defined as a model of
software deployment where an application is licensed for use as a
service provided to customers on demand.
SaaS is at a nascent stage in the country and is yet to prove its value
for the partners. Since the service has not gained in the market, the
margins in this business are less than the common expectation. However,
with increasing adoption, SaaS is expected to reach a level where the
demand will determine the price of the offering, making the whole
implementation worth the effort. In this topic, let us discuss the
impact of SaaS in SaaS: Opportunities and Challenges.

Where there is SaaS, Paas or IaaS has to follow, since the backbone of Saas is going to be PaaS. For businesses it makes more sense to adopt SaaS, and for IT professionals, it's time to go the PaaS way. Developing on the cloud (PaaS) is going to...

Guys In todays down turn for small/mid size bsuiness the capital investment is huge concern on the software side. As we are getting more niche application of the shelf apart from the core ERP, for transportation, warehouse, Data Analytics. So most of them are looking at the SaaS model. The model is good and it will work fine provider you know what we need to ask and look for the solution. 1. Dynamic Billing -the SaaS bill should follow your usage fluctations. Never should agree to 'software maintenance fees' or to pre-established 'user licenses' because it defeats one of the primary goals of switching to SaaS model. 2.Security -uses SSL, data centers have 24/7 physical secuirty, mutiple cus...

The session started by comparing the SaaS model with the Software model by giving the example of having an executable floating on different computers. And by this how many problems are resolved using the SaaS model. Advantages are like there is no need of downloading, installation and updating the software. No version clashes, everyone is on the same version, which also makes HR independent of the IT department. Then the customer gets the Pay as you go model. The travel cost is reduced as no customer visit is required for installation and upgrade. Support cost is significantly reduced in the SaaS model. Customer doesn’t have to bear the cost incurred for IT support. In a way SaaS model is...
