About "Sales Sets the Stage for Beneficial Customer Experiences" topic:
In the pursuit of revenue sales defines expectations on customer experiences in the sales cycle, but its primary concern with achieving targets often leads to actions that contradict corporate strategies for improving customer experiences. A quandary for companies is finding out how best to organise and cordinate sales so that desired customer experiences are promoted. Such initiatives often require technology for enabling improvements to sales practices, but sales people are notoriously resistant to adopting new software. This topic should highlight and analyze key sales constituencies and applications to consider when seeking to mobilize sales for customer experience initiatives.

Working in sales is tough. You need a gift for the gab, a thick skin, and an undying persistence, even in the face of constant rejection. But those who can do it well see the ample fruits of their labor. It’s this promise that pushes them to work harder, to stay positive and to master their craft, even when the outlook seems grim. Job-seekers, take note. If you’ve looked for work recently, you know that landing a job and closing a sale have a lot in common. The cost of failure can be just as dire; the benefit of success, equally rewarding. The good news? Success isn’t entirely based on natural ability. Good salespeople draw on a number of learned tips, tricks and mantras to help them close ...

If we analyse the nature of students' demand, what they want as customers are: Expert Teaching Quality Learning Resources Well-structured Courses Either Marketable Skills or a Strong Brand or even both Flexibility Fair Assessment The concept that that all learning can be made fun and easy is flawed. Although it should be interesting, the task is to teach skills. It is difficult to get away with poor quality teaching any longer. However, in the area of assessment, there is insufficient objectivity and discipline at present. There is a strong case that all assessment should be anonymous and conducted at arm’s length. WINNERS AND LOSERS There are however a number of areas of new demand which fundamentally represent good news for those in the education sector who can ride the wave in a clever way: the knowledge worker; business advice; the law; health; "edutainment"; financial planning. Not everyone can win. Among the winners in these changing conditions are likely to be: those who...

An old man, staying in a small south Indian town came to visit his son in Bombay recently. The son in his early thirties is a successful businessman living with his wife and son. The father, having spent most of his life at his birthplace, hardly understands a splatter of Hindi or English, forget Marathi. But he doesn't care. 'I have come here to spend a few days with my son and his family. I don't have to go out and socialize with the city people,' he said. But the son is very excited about his father's rare visit to Bombay. He wants to make the best of it. He and his wife want to show him around the city. And yes, the son enjoys those evening hours too, when he and his father go out and sit in a good bar, sipping their favorite drink. Last week he was in a very good mood. 'Let's go to a five star hotel's bar tonight,' he told his father. It was a beautiful evening. Talking about everything under the sun they had a few drinks. As usual they were offered some salad, peanuts,...

The word 'Push' has traditionally characterized FMCG sales systems in India. This is changing for the better in many ways. Sales in many companies like HLL, Marico and Colgate is secondary driven. Let me explain this to a reader who is new to sales jargons. Secondary driven basically means that retail orders to the distributor (secondary sale), which are a function of sales from the retail shelf(offtakes), determine the volume of primaries (billing from the company to the distributors - primary sale). In traditional sales systems the disproportionately high targets were driven by billing high volume of stocks to the distributors (primaries) without there being an adequate movement of stock from the distributor point to the trade (secondaries). This system worked as long as the brands has a demand (pull) that was proportionate to this loading. However in case of inadequate offtakes, this extra stock used to lie at the distributor point or die in the shelves of the retailer. In case...

How to spot a fake resume Here are somethings you need to look for to ensure that you are not being hoodwinked into recruiting someone with fake credentials. The information that is most often faked are the following: 1. Skills 2. Work details/Projects 3. Salary details 4. Employment records 5. Educaton records There are reasonably easy ways to get to the truth, though they are not completely foolproof. Skills The fake resume exponent knows that companies search for candidates on job sites using keywords. They also know that to end up in the top 2 - 3 pages, they need to match as many keywords as possible. So in their resume, they add all skills that are commonly searched for by companies, whether they possess the skill or not. The way to defeat this is to ask all candidates to send in their updated profiles with the following details for each of their skills Have you just heard about it, or have you undergone training, or do you have hands-on experience? If you have undergone...
