Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, 'I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.' The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, 'How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!' So he came back and told Buddha, 'The water in there is very muddy. I don´t think it is fit to drink.' After about half an hour, again B...

Absolutely no. Uniforms should not be allowed even in the schools is what I feel. Whatever be the economic strata of an individual, they must be allowed to express their personalities through their attire. And yes, this is a silly topic to discuss.

Importance of Distance Education in India Asif Ahmed After independence, India had made tremendous progress in the field of education, though mostly quantitative in nature. Earlier, education was available only to the elites in society, and a large majority of poor and marginalized people remained illiterate. Political considerations have an important role in the expansion of higher education, especially at the state level. The state government experienced tremendous pressure from the public to establish more and more colleges and universities. In a democratic society, even the strong governments find it very difficult to resist such pressures and are compelled to succumb to the same. These considerations have led to fast expansion of higher education in our country, which in turn, have adverse impact upon its quality....

As there are more and more MBA aspirants than ever before, the trend is everybody wants to get into to the management and to be the best of the lot one wants to get into the IIMs of the country, and who want to know more and more about CAT exam, which is the most important exam which is conducted to get into the IIMs of the country, so go through this one sure you'll find it exciting... The damn myth! Of all the MBA's entrance examinations conducted all over the world, there is one ridiculously conducted mysterious exam for all MBA aspirants and it's called CAT. New entrants may think the full form as Common Aptitude Test, but veterans pretty well know it's not the thinking that matters but it is the ability to think that matters. It is called Common Admission Test. Majority of the rookies may try the exam for fun for the first time while second timers would be pretty serious about CAT. If you want to mark an oval as your answer on the OMR sheet or if you want to click the correct...

I am very happy to see 'Right to Education' becoming a reality. 'Right to Education' has become a fundamental right now. As everybody knows that a fundamental right is to be secured or ensured by the states and when the state is failed to secure a fundamental right, then, the citizens can approach the High Court or the Supreme Court under Article 226 of Constitution of India and under Article 32 respectively. We know what all the fundamental rights under the constitution and also the directive principles. We have seen in the past as to how the scope of Part-III of Constitution has been expanded by the Constitutional Courts from time to time and at one point of time, it has appeared to many as I believe that the line between Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy has become very thin. Interpretation of constitutional provisions apart, ultimately it is the state that has to secure the rights. It is the bold step of the UPA led Congress Government making education...

Why the pen is mightier than the keyboard: Children who write by hand 'learn better than those who type' Children and students who write by hand learn better than those who type, a study has revealed. Something is apparently lost in the brain process when switching from pen and book to computer screen and keyboard. This is because reading and writing involves a number of our senses, according to the scientists who conducted the study. When writing by hand, the movements involved leave an imprint in the part of the brain called the sensorimotor. This process helps to help us recognise letters. Simply touching and typing on a keyboard produces a different response in the brain, which means it does not strengthen the learning mechanism in the same way. In tests, two groups of volunteers were asked to learn an unknown alphabet. The first was taught to write the letters by hand, while the other used keyboards. At weekly intervals their recollections of the alphabet were recorded. And...

W elcome to our ‘MahaManan Kendra’ ( MahaManan education center). We think, customary (formal) academic (school – college etc.) education is not sufficient for true development of human beings.
