Govt to bring environment bill in next session

NEW DELHI: A bill for setting up
    National Environment
    Protection Agency (NEPA), an
    independent body of
professionals to monitor compliance of green laws in the country, will be tabled in monsoon session of Parliament by the government. This was stated by environment minister Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday at a two-day conference on ‘Environment Audit: Concerns About Water Pollution’ organised by the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) here. NEPA which would be a statutory body “truly autonomous” of the environment ministry was being set up as the laws pertaining to environment pollution were not implemented in their true spirit, according to the Minister.
Will this Court can be solution for Green laws?

the old geezer writes again. here's a more non physical view of the 'second law of thermodynamics' (SLOTD). the law of entropy, or the SLOTD comprises one of the most fundamental laws of physics. it is also viewed as 'the law of disorder'. it is a straight forward law which states that in a closed system, you can't finish any physical process with as much useful energy as you had started with - some of it will always be wasted. this means that a perpetual motion machine is impossible - it will require doses of energy to continually go on. entropy (subject of the second law) energy (subject of the first law) and their relationship are fundamental to an undersatnding of not only physics, but of LIFE itself. many of us, even today, feel that having aquired the basics (in school), grads, post grads professional degrees / diplomas / skills (in various colleges), a few years of work ex, and a health looking network, our job is done. that would loosely relate to the first law - in that we...

World IP Day, 26 April: "The Power of Ideas as the seedbed for innovation and creativity" "World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to encourage people to think about the role played by intellectual property in everyday life, and about its importance in stimulating and safeguarding innovation and creativity. This year we celebrate the starting point of all intellectual property, the seeds from which all innovations and creative works grow – ideas." WIPO member states decided, in 2000, to designate a World Intellectual Property Day to raise awareness of the role of intellectual property in our daily lives, and to celebrate the contribution made by innovators and artists to the development of societies across the globe. April 26 was chosen as this was the date on which the Convention establishing WIPO entered into force in 1970. Significance of World IP Day To raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact daily life To increase understanding of how...

Recovery of its due has been a hectic exercise for the Banks in the absence of a special legislation. ‘Non-performing Assets’ were growing and a need was felt to reduce the ‘Non-performing Assets’ of the Banks drastically. As the recovery through Courts was a difficult exercise for the Banks, initially, a special legislation called ‘The Recovery of Debts due to Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 1993’ was enacted creating a Special Tribunal called ‘Debt Recovery Tribunal’. Under the Act, the Banks are entitled to approach the Tribunal by filing an ‘Original Application’ which is similar to filing a suit in Civil Court proceedings. At the end of adjudication, the Tribunal is supposed to grant a certificate called ‘Recovery Certificate’ infavour of the Bank...
