Not oil market per-se, but the oil prices need to be regulated, for it impacts all levels of economy. However this also implies the money lost by the exchequer should be recovered when the international market prices go down.

Let's first take a call whether we should go back to the regulated markets, as in pre-NIneties. If so, why only Oil Markets, why not all other markets, as well? If not, don't do it selectively.

It is not mandatory always to use your connection only if there is some personal gain. You can just use them for a better network and invite a new friend into your life.

The state-run power major NTPC is going to invest about Rs 3,000 crore in solar energy to add over 300 mw of generation capacity by March 2014. The board of directors of NTPC has approved a roadmap to enter the solar power generation business for capacity addition of 301 mw by March. An investment of Rs 10 crore is required to produce one mw of solar power. Out of the 301 mw, 190 mw will be added through solar thermal technology and the balance 111 mw through solar PV technology. The company has already taken up 15 mw of solar thermal based project at Anta in Rajasthan. The power generated from this station will be fed into the grid. The largest power producer plans to add 50,000 mw of elec...

The problem with solar power is unpredictability, low output, longer duration for ROI.However, its definitely a good step towards clear source of energy

It may not be that apparent to the average consumer, but the way that electricity is generated, stored and transmitted is under immense strain. As demand for electrical power grows, a radical rethink of the power grid is needed if we are to get electricity to where it is needed, when it is needed. And the solution most likely to emerge as the way forward over the next ten years is the Smart grid. Smart grids connect producers of electricity to users through an interconnected Âintelligent network. They allow centralized power stations to be augmented with - and even replaced by - distributed sources such as small-scale wind farms and domestic solar panels. They route power from where ...
