Yes, of course. Who said that you can not buy a better house or a car than your boss. There is absolutely NO CONNECTION in between these two things. So, one should proceed without any hesitation.
GAURAV AGRAWAL  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  1 year ago
You have to play safe always with your boss. You have to keep your boss above you atleast in office. You don't have to flaunt your status better than your boss in office.
Darshana Sawant  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  1 year ago
I don't thing this a very serious issue. If you are a star performer are better than your boss you have the right to buy anything that you feel like. Moreover buying something is in your rights buying just to please your boss is just like licking...

Yes You are right. It is human nature that if he/she listen criticism about him/her first they try to oppose it because all people has its own view, sometimes you are right and sometimes wrong. first analyze you if you feel you are right then...
Dr.G.S.Rama Rao  |  Supported idea  " Examine yourself"  |  1 year ago
It is correct and +ve  approach( though easier said). Yet this puritanic approach leads to lot of frustration because we expect the other's appreciation. The ideal solution will/shall be a blend of all the above said factors.

Good looking ladies can add more value in customer facing positions than in back office jobs..
Amit Saxena  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  3 months ago
I totally deny this fact because good looks provides more oppertunities to women. There are many sectors which are totally dependent on looks of women.and in corporates looks gives u more opprtunities to explore your career.

Describe the insight With businesses now a global affair, it’s important to brush up your social skills, says TOI... It's been years but Ramesh Balasubramanian, a manager at a financial services firm, still shudders at the thought of gifting an expensive bottle of New Zealand wine to his counterpart in Dubai. “I didn’t know that gifting alcohol to a person from the Middle East is considered an insult.” Today, a wiser Bala says, “We work in a global business environment and companies should realise the potential of good corporate manners. It’s important to have a social skills expert to train people just the way motivational speakers prepare them emotionally.” Using the right fork or keeping...

Better if such negative attitude is avoided.Confrontation is never the solution.Certainly you have to give some ROOM to Boss in the interest of your own survival.Be diplomatic.

Day Off, a Boss's Perspective So, you want the day off? Let's take a look at what you are asking for. There are 365 days per year available for work. There are 52 weeks a year in which you already get 2 days off per week, leaving 261 days available for work. Since you spend 16 hours each day away from work, you have used up 170 days, leaving 1 days available. You spend 30 minutes a day on a coffee break. That accounts for 23 days each year, leaving only 68 days available. With one Hour for lunch period each day you use up another 46 days, leaving only 22 days available to work. You normally spend 2 days a year for sick leave. This leaves you only 20 days available for work. We are off for 5...

Hi frnds...I was just browsing and stumbled on a topic that is common to all all of us face this uninvited guest regularly. His name is Dr. Stress ... So, Dr. Stress has a policy ' Never Heal Your Patients ' ....in turn make them more sick. Do you feel tense and anxious at work? Do your co-workers and/or boss make you crazy? Is your personal life less than blissful? If so, you've got stress. If you're like most people you've sought refuge from this situation by trying a quick fix or two like calling a friend, walking the dog, or going away for the weekend in an attempt to escape it all. While these strategies may serve as temporary diversions, nothing in your life changes when you return to...

If we are able to mark the reasons of stress-strain –tension, and after that if we can remedy those reasons, then we will be able largely to free from stress-strain –tension. Apparent reason of stress-strain –tension is internal secretion of...

People and places change with changing times. And Gartner has gone ahead ten years in time and predicted ten major changes that will occur in workplaces in 2020. Here this report talks about working conditions after ten years, 'Work will become less routine, characterized by increased volatility, hyperconnectedness, 'swarming' and more.' The year 2015 will see 40 percent or more of organization's work turn to non-routine. The present figures for the same stand at 25 percent. Some of the changes predicted by Gartner include de-routinization of work, work swarms, attention to patterns, hyperconnectedness and my place. People are unique in their analytical and interactive contributions that re...

Unhealthy competition drives even self-proclaimed honest people to attempt dis-honest practices. Value system is degenerating! We need a thorough over-hauling in our thought processes.
sumita  |  Argues in support of  "NO"  |  1 year ago
I think no one can influence your ethics and change your values. so being dishonest and selfish is not at all an acquired trait. In the words of Gandhiji, "don't let anybody walk into your mind with their dirty feet."

Office Etiquette or Office Manners is about conducting yourself   respectfully and courteously   in the office or workplace I have noticed that as we go from college to the real corporate world it is hard to get used to a different environment. This is for freshers because other would be knowing the thumb rules already.   Always act with honesty and   dignity Chewing   gum   and popping bubble gum in the presence of co-workers is neither cool nor dignified Never   do it whilst attending customers Wear appropriate office   attire,   for example correct footwear, not thongs (flip flops) - they are strictly casual or beachwear No exposed midriff to   display   tattoos and body piercing. Be neat, clean and as   conservative   as the business requires you to be We are put off by   smelly people.   So, be sure to shower regularly and use a suitable deodorant Do not   cough or sneeze   in anyone's direction. Use a tissue, if possible, to contain the germs and then say "Excuse me" The  ...

India is a free nation. People have rights but still women are struggling to come up. There is a lot of violence against women not only in India but also in other countries. So what can men who really want this to stop do? 1. Don't remain silent when you see anyone you know is abusing a woman. 2. If you feel woman around you is harassed, ask her. 3.If you are emotionally, psychologically, physically, or sexually abusive to women, or have been in the past, seek professional help NOW.  4.Don’t fund sexism. Refuse to purchase any magazine, rent any video, subscribe to any Web site, or buy any music that portrays girls or women in a sexually degrading or abusive manner. Protest sexism in the media 5.Mentor and teach young boys about how to be men in ways that don’t involve degrading or abusing girls and women. Volunteer to work with gender violence prevention programmes, including anti-sexist men’s programmes. Lead by example.   Read more Spread the message and add your points.
