About "Unethical Use of Media Identity" topic:
A fake media for any purpose - be it noble or evil - is highly harmful to a true media professional. Under this topic we can discuss issues and cases where other people or professionals use false media identity that later becomes a problem for the true media professionals. For example, if Tehelka team members were dragged into controversy on charges of ethics and breaching national security norms for doing an investigation into large scale corruption in camouflage of international suppliers, how ethical is it for the police to do something in camouflage of journalists, as it happened in West Bengal? This particular case would put the Journalist under Moist scanner an they may not be able to report from Maoist dominated remote places. Is it not unethical use of Media identity that also would restrict the real professionals of the industry from doing their job?

West Bengal Police somehow succeeded in arresting Chhattradhar Mahato, chief of a Maoist-backed body that leads the tribal movement in trouble-torn belt of West Bengal, posing some of its officials as journalists. The incident of arresting a red cadre in disguise of journalist will not only give a set back to the leaders habituated in giving interviews but, also, to the journalists who were crazy to interview terrorists and members of banned organisations....

You can do this by reporting abuse against the fake profile... Visit the profile page of the fake account Hover your mouse over the More Actions Click Report Abuse Choose Impersonation/Fake Account as the reason for abuse Hope this helps
