About "US INDIA" topic:

US INDIA relations refers to the bilateral relations between the United States of America and the Republic of India.

US INDIA relations have strained over Obama administration's approach in handling the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan and Pakistan. India's National Security Adviser, M.K. Narayanan, criticized the Obama administration for linking the Kashmir dispute to the instability in Pakistan and Afghanistan and said that by doing so, President Obama was "barking up the wrong tree"

The US INDIA defense relationship derives from a common belief in freedom, democracy, and the rule of law, and seeks to advance shared security interests. Today, India and the U.S. share an extensive cultural, strategic, military and economic relationship

Dear madam, I could not understand why should US help India.....,because it cann't. Terrorism is their product only and their stand in this matter is very much doubtful. They have their own strategic plannings and partners. Why should we expect...

US will continue to support Pakistan government to fight terror in Pak and Afghanistan and it will indirectly arm those who is opposed to India. Our region will become unstable and both China and US does not want India to become Strong

Dear madam, your view appears good only on paper as it is practically impossible. We can not expect US to HELP India to come out of terrorism. You must be aware about the fact that the US gave birth to terrorism long back. US still funding...

Rabbani’s Death Blow to India When a suicide bomber  killed former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani  last week at his Kabul residence, he may also have delivered a mortal blow to the peace process as well. This is the third major act of terrorism in Afghanistan this month, with all three attacks carried out in supposedly secure locations. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid initially claimed the group’s responsibility for the  Rabbani assassination , although the group  seemed to backtrack  from the comments a day later. Regardless of whether the assassination was carried out by the Taliban, the perpetrators were merely the hand that executed the act. The mind was most likely located el...

The assassination of Rabbani seems to be a warning to Karzai against his alliance with Tajiks and it also can be considered as a pre-emptive clout to prevent the re-emergence of the Northern Alliance as a strong force. The assassination of Rabbai...

Clinton’s India Nuclear Landmine There was nothing much for India to cheer about as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited New Delhi this week for the second Indo-US Strategic Dialogue with her Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna. Indian concerns about the Nuclear Suppliers’ Group’s recent hardening of Enrichment and Reprocessing technology transfer terms remained unaddressed, while Clinton instead conveyed Washington’s  annoyance  over Indian nuclear liability laws, which make it possible to seek compensation from suppliers, and asked the UPA government to tweak them further to conform with international liability norms. She also asked India to negotiate with the International Atomic En...

Hillary Clinton’s Hits and Misses in India The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who held the second Indo-U.S. Strategic Dialogue with her Indian counterpart S M Krishna in New Delhi on July 19, failed to give any concrete assurance to India on its concerns about Nuclear Suppliers’ Group’s recent hardening of ENR (Enrichment and Reprocessing) technology transfer terms, which put a question mark on implementation of the Indo-U.S. civilian nuclear cooperation agreement. She also did not to haul Pakistan over coals for its various sins of omission and commission on the terror issue, like British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicholas Sarkozy had done last year while ...

A big blow for India. Talibans welcomed withdrawal of American troops in their style by killing the kin of President Mr. Karzai. The strategic point Kabul is now in the hands of three rogues (Al-Qaeda, Taliban and ISI). Unless our security forces...

The following article of mine was recently published in a Washington magazine 'Diplomatic Courier'. U.S. Withdrawal From Afghanistan Is Bad for India WRITTEN BY RAJEEV SHARMA, CONTRIBUTOR | 28 JUNE 2011 President Barack Obama’s announcement that the United States will withdraw 10,000 U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan by the end of this year and complete withdrawal of all its soldiers in that country in a phased manner by 2014 is bad tidings for India and good news for Pakistan and the jihadists. The June 22 announcement is an implementation of Obama’s promises that he made while campaigning for presidential elections in 2008. It is understandable from the American points of view—economically a...

STORY WHICH MAKES US TO THINK Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness , Sadness , Knowledge , and all of the others , including Love . One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment. When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, “ Richness , can you take me with you?” Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.” Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “ Vanity , please help me!” “I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked, “ Sadness , let me go with you.” “Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!” Happiness passed by Love,...

Military Strength: Comapre India and Pakistan Manpower and Ground Forces India has the second largest manpower in its military globally - at 3,773,300 personell (2005), next only to China. Pakistan has a much smaller manpower of 1,449,000 personell which is proportionally higher than India in terms of their population ratios. Pakistan’s ground forces are equipped with American or Chinese weapons like FIM 92 Stinger SAMs, BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles, T-82 tanks and other equipments. In terms of numbers and equipments, both Indian and Pakistani ground forces are on an closely equal footing. I support the fight against corruption which Anna Hazare jee has started but at the same time my mind is full of doubts.. Many doubts.. How can we stop corruption in India? When I was in school my parents used to pay 10 rupee every month to the peons to take care of me.. Though it was their duty and they should have done the dame without money but those 10 rupees created a lot of difference in their behavior. Corruption has strong roots. Corruption has to uprooted and the tumors which it has formed like the cancer tumors have to be removed. Even a single cell has the power to recreate it. We are humans and do not have control on the basics feelings like greed. If you are given even 500 rupees to do one work you will happily take it and start dreaming about how to spend it. While when your earn the same you prefer saving it. When this saving and spending ratio has to be balanced you prefer to be irrational. The cleaning of individual from within is necessary and that can be done...

Facts about "Jana Gana Mana" - Just a thought for the National Anthem! How well do you know about it?     I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata",    whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India! Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country.   Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.   To begin with, India's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of  England when they visited India in 1919.   To honour their visit Pandit Motilal  Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and  Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!! !)   In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha etc. were mentioned. None of  the  princely states were recognised which are integral parts of India...
