About "Why building collapse are on a rise in India?" topic:
Recently
we are seeing there are many building collapse in India, where in
Bellary in Karnataka nearly 7 people were dead and now recently in
Hyderabad where nearly 13 people were dead and there were many last
year where we saw couple of cases in Mumbai. There will be many factors
that will result in a building collapse, but what is the most important
factor in a building collapse. So lets discuss why building collapse
are on a rise and what needs to be done such that there are no more
casualties in future.

Now a days structures failure i.e)sudden collapse are occuring due to earthquake especially in foreign countries, the main reason for this happening is design calculations, cosideration analysis of safe bearing capacity of soil, earth quake wind...

Agree with Mr. Ghosh. The causes are more than one. Absence of soil investigation, poor design, Faulty execution, use of low quality materials, cost cutting made to make irrational profit, lack of experienced skilled workforce, etc. Construction...

Failure due to Design is minimum or designed by so called non Structural Engineers .The other reasons could be the difference of intended use of structures as in some case terrace is used for gardening which was not told at time of design.Designs...

I agree with Jha that the dampers are good and can be very well used in the design of highrise buildings. The main risk in the low rise building which are constructed without proper guidance and design. Enforcement by lagislation and will power...

Small residential construction id so much unorganized, hence it will be a hard nut to crack. But if we look for High rise structures such a adherence will not be an issue. Earthquake resistant design and use of dampers will do increase the cost...

Researchers said engineers must not simply work to the minimum requirements of the building code; they need to consider ways to improve structural integrity and robustness to accommodate future local failures.

Why ca n’t we contain Inflation which other developed nations find it easier to do? Inflation is the general rise in price levels. It is matter of previlages and authority that is mismatched that lead to loss in value of the currency which had been our problem for long where our currency now is so undervalued and is loosing it as a pattern for long time. It all emerges, let us forget about the standard routes of raising rates or restricting money supply or even creating autostabilizers there is a fundamental reason why we have inflation far beyond what may be required by our growth and employment. Suppose if one get an electric connection, one need to also buy an inverter to get sustained power. If one need to buy a car one need to also spend on extra demand of services every half year. If one need to go to an office to get anything now(not now I presume) one need to spend extra income to get it to functional levels. So on and so forth goes the extra income required to meet the...

My salutes to Mr Narayana Murthy and Mr Mashelkar! Today in Economic Times the brain storming article having same heading made me really excited and highly hopeful towards future of application of researches in science and technology in commercial field. As in my whole career I felt that its lagging too much in our country (except southern parts of India).Whatever researches are going on in big government institutes remain in journals and proceedings of seminars.Very few come up in application. While crores of rupees are spent every year by many funding sectors viz; UGC,CSIR,DBT and many more. Today after reading views of Mr Narayan Murthy and Mr Mashelkar I felt really supportive from their side as I have requested in many seminars and meetings about this innovation. Mr Narayan Murthy: What we really require is science, technology and innovation policy.Innovation is mind to market, concept to commercialisation. In the rest of the world you see that is happening. Mr Mashelkar: Human...

At last all will be finished, then why so constant hard effort for attainment of consciousness? What is the benefit suffering so much sorrow– pain – hardship for it? At last one time this creation will be destroyed, then why this unbearable painful run of life? What is the benefit – being a fully developed human being or attaining the god head?
