I cannot think of a better way to name this particular theory but I know that it has changed the perspective of quite a few people who went through serious bouts of loneliness and depression. Again, Universal Truth Of Life just showcases the primary characteristics of the Universe which are not too easily visible to most of mankind. Let’s break this theory into smaller pieces and magnify them. Conditions like depression inevitably invite a sense of loneliness into the victim’s mind. This can be to a certain extent cured through psychological treatment but nothing is far better a physician than one’s mind. From the moment your heart first began to beat when you were still in the warm conf...

You never know when they happen and when they do, you can never forget them. Each time one of them happens, it promises to tug at your heart for a lifetime. Fortunetly, life gives every one of us these precious moments that can never be erased from our minds. Moments that seem to stand still for ages, deep within the tiniest crevices of the heart and mind. These moments make me proud of being a human. I am sure you have taken numerous photographs during the many phases of your life so far and probably will do so for as long as you can. For many years and perhaps even decades, we rely on them to bring back the laughter, joy and even sadness that remain captured within each image. Technology doe...

I took some time away from everything to refrain and reflect, which did a great deal of good to my mind and soul. I must admit that I feel better, stronger and healthier than I have in many months. Some call it my hibernation process. Frankly, I cannot think of a better term to describe this phase. No, I don’t move in to my backyard and hide in a burrow of sorts till winter passes by. Neither was I running away to hide from it all. I would not refer to it as a ’stopping by to smell the flowers’ syndrome but I did do that quite a bit too. Why would one hibernate when everything is going in the right direction? To look around, think and rest. We are not built to work like machines. Anyone who...

Life should resemble a flowing stream for there is so much more one can achieve from doing so. Are you flowing towards all the directions you want to? Or are you limiting yourself because you feel ‘safe’ or ‘comfortable’ being where you are? One thing I have noticed throughout life is – people are never truly happy being where they are, no matter who they are. Each one has his or her unique way of expressing it. We all want more from life but it all boils down to how many of us actually get down to doing something about it. Like I mentioned in another article: “If you don’t change your direction from time to time, the change happens anyway but you may not like where you are headed.” There i...

Saying ‘no’ to anyone was the most difficult thing for me to do in the past. The resulting circumstances have at times been far more disappointing, distressing and even shocking than I would have imagined. Before long, I was confronting myself on my disability to say ‘no’ in the first place even when I knew that I was getting myself into a situation I would probably dislike. There came a point in my life when I realized how much more happier I would be if I learnt to refuse some things that came my way. This is when I looked at life as a buffet. You have the liberty of choosing what you want to fill your plate up with at a buffet although I must admit that I have been amused by a few who ta...

Try not to say NO at once. Instead let your body language very cordially convey the message of refusal. Then put the answer in such a way that it implies NO. A combination of different forms of communication!

Living in possibly one of the warmest cities on this planet, it is probably too easy to give up the ‘cool’ attitude and very few seem to resist the ‘hot’ offer. All conversations either begin or lead to the climatic condition and I often find myself in them at least twice a day. I don’t try to duck each time someone mentions how horribly hot the day is. That would not make me feel any better about the weather or the conversation. Instead, a smarter way of approaching certain unpleasant issues would be to use milder or more positive words to describe them. A ‘bright’ day sounds much better than a hot and sultry one. Hot is uncomfortable and sweaty Whereas bright isn’t. Get it? Does that mean...

Sadness, disappoinment and anger are emotions that need as much attention as happiness does. You have to keep an eye on them and play your cards accordingly. You cannot appear happy on the outside and be full of remorse or frustration on the inside. Prentending to feel what you don’t will not get you ahead. It will harm you, psychologically and physically. It is ok to feel sad or angry. A few weeks ago, I discovered that a very close friend of mine was betraying me each day for almost 2 years by spreading awful rumors about me to practically everyone we knew. That appalled me beyond belief and I was very hurt and upset. She had misused my trust in the most disgusting manner possible. To mak...

I receive some mails from time to time from UToL readers that they simply find some of the theories unsuitable for their lifestyle because they do not seem to have the time to include them into their regular schedule. I must stress that I am not writing only for selective individuals who have all the time in the world to keep adding more activities into their day. I believe that we all have been blessed with 24 hours in a day and it is more of how we manage our day that defines our status. There are hundreds of time management strategies available but even the most productive ones will not make any difference if you don’t change the way you think. It is easier accepting that you have no tim...
