I mean 3 idiots movie has surely changed the way one thinks these days and there is a news piece which I happened to see in a online news portal where two Ahmedabad students, Pragnesh Dudhaiya and Aalok Bhatt of Nirma University, have designed a helmet that doubles up as a mobile phone charger. This helmet charges a mobile in 40 minutes by using solar and wind energy.

Dudhaiya and Bhatt who are final-year students of electrical engineering are planning to file a patent for their innovation. This is an attempt by the students to bring down the number of accidents caused due to people not using helmets while driving. The number of accidents in the city is on the rise. Two-wheeler drivers who don't wear protective head gear face a greater risk.

And more interesting thing is that it took only three days to create this new generation helmet. They designed it when our college was hosting a 'green fest'. If we remember 3 idiots movie where he says "necessity is the mother of all invention". Surely students are getting on the bandwagon of 3 idiots way which is becoming more and more of a reality these days where we are witnessing such things from students.

But nothing should be taken away from these students as they are the brains behing it.  Emphasizing on energy saving using this helmet, he says that during daytime, the helmet would use solar energy to charge a cellphone attached to it, while in the night, it would use wind energy. "It will cost Rs. 1,000, a small price to pay for safety as well as convenience," he added.

Surely 3 idiots movie has struck a chord with students and we are seeing things happening, may these things were happening but are coming into light now.  Hope our education system also takes few pointers from 3 idiots movies, which is very much needed at the moment, what do you think people.....

This is wonderful innovation by youngsters of India. It really help the country to save the power. I could suggest they should approach any Indian Company with this project. If company is ready to promote this helmet at International level and there they have wonderful opportuity for commercially produce this product. Even they will get such another ideas over there.

I am not agree that the 3- Idiot has changed that. because in the institution DCE, IIT, IISC and some of the institution has always contributed at large scale but if you talk the 3- idiot has changed because it has targeted to that audience and education system and nothing has changed in that because we don't have such report in big colleges these type of innovation is always happening so nothing new
