Many advertisements come and go.. Few make an impression on our mind.. Impression might be good , bad and at times ugly!!!

The government has cracked down on "obscene" deodorant advertisements directing advertisers to modify them or take them off air. The I&B ministry has asked the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) to take action and submit a report within five days.

On one side are the good ads like one of our Toostep user posted "wRite to change" (Hath Uthao) and on other hand are these ads.. It becomes more important because even the kids watch tv and ads will be viewed by all..

Many parents have hard time explaining to their kids that what it actually is and why should they change the channel.

While the other group of people says why is this county with world's second largest population offended by sexuality?

What is your point of view here?

i agree with u bcz there are many company come and ad makers making the new ad.he is not think any demation of our culther . even the kids watch tv and ads will be viewed by all...

it looks like Advertise maker now a days become more focus on viewers and they don't care about the age of viewers and what impact of their ad on particular age of viewers . i would say in each and every ad sensor board should involved to magnify the lyrics of ad, pictures of ad, video of ad etc. Thanks.

You are right purvi its very difficult to explain about this type of ads to our younger one. specialy the ad of wildston wht they exectly want to show in there advertisement its very difficult to catch for children and they start to ask questions..

The good one is that which leaves lasting impression.Inspite of all "halla bulaa" people lap up 'gali' songs and the film is declared best national Entertainer. In my view obscenity in words and picture must be avoided.

Purvi I agree with you that it is really difficult to explain to children. Actually parents walk out in fear of being asked any question. These advertisements should be banned totally in our country.

Yes I agree with you. Any perverted advt or inducing perversion is to disliked. Advt more relevant to their product, confirming to the social norms will do good to,  people as well as , the product.

We don't want to become moral police, but advertisers should know their social responsibility, while making it big for the money & for the advertising.

I think that all TV channels are not really meant for children.  Parents should ensure that children should be watching Discovery channel and some select channels, and advertisers and media planners should ensure that adult ads should not be allowed on the Children-specific channels. 

Parents should take responsibility of their wards and watch the children-specific TV responsibly when their children are around, instead of thinking of their entertainment, and driving their children towards entertainment instead of education.

Seriously, I watch Discovery quite often especially if a kid is around and it's quite safe for everyone's viewing (no rubbish TV fictional serials justifying child marriage and demeaning mother-in-laws), and the power of changing the channel is in your hands(via the remote) so let's watch only channels that keep everyone in mind.

Deodorant advertisements particularly Axe advertisements are the worst and remaining are fallowing them now.  They might be catchy but can they persuade the customer? I doubt.  Some ads are thought provoking.  The aim of advertising is not just luring more eye balls, and providing information.  Dont they know this. Similarly whisper, stayfree ads.  Ladies they feel shy to carry them in public, but these adds making these things public.

i agree with you madam and i would like to add more apaet from ad, many movies preview are coming in various entertainment channel and in the presence or absence ofparent, kids are watching all kind of these preview of movie or ad. Now a days kids are focus more on entertainment channel as compared to cartoon  channel.

So many kinds of nude things are catching by kids. A very famous song Sheila ki jawani, kids have remeber and also singing songas well as 100% watching in home, many parents are not explain about it. 

Apart from deodernt ad, the other ad like drink ad, personal care ad (Gel toothpaste, shaving cream,hair care,under wear garments) etc...all kinds of ads are facing by many kids on various channel..we can say that kid are also mature and understand all things,however age is small but they can easily understand each kind of thing very well...

Generation difference, future will danger.. let's see what ASCI will take final...Thanks madam for such good debat and referal..

No doubt we are the second largest country. But we are brought up with some values. However modern we behave or act, the values are imbedded inside. If you observe keenly, men give place to women standing in a line, or if a women is insulted men gather and thrash the other person (even in these days of equality) because we were taught to respect women. When we address them, we say 'ma'. That's our culture. Even the 21st generation, we are keeping our values intact. Be proud to be an Indian !! Thanks for the referral.
