Because they are trained in this area, they can use their skills to effectively manage your assets in such a way that expenditures are considerably scaled down so that good dividends can be attained. Asset managers will ensure that your assets that usually demands large sums of money every month to maintain is transformed into a profit yielding one.

But being only manager is not enough, you should be aware of how to manage assts in various countries governed by different financial regulatory policies. Here I will focus my talk on Asset Management In China, as it is one of the fastest growing financial markets.

Have a look at this valuable inormation, explaining the potentails of asset mangement in China

  • Multinational companies with asset-management partnerships in China have been riding a surge in its stock markets: returns of more than 100 percent, in some cases, have added to the country’s allure as a fast-growing asset-management market.
  • We estimate that the market will grow by more than 60 percent annually for the next three years, but high churn rates and fierce competition will force asset managers to hawk their talents to investors more aggressively.
  • Multinational asset managers can stand out from the pack by actively educating and cultivating investors and by developing wide distribution networks.
  • But there is a major task for the AMCs given that China’s state owned industries are estimated to face US $200 billion in bad debts. The longer-term aim of the AMCs is to rehabilitate the loss making large state owned companies and eventually liquidate their stakes by selling or listing the shares of the firms.

capturing a large share of it won’t be easy. More than 27 foreign asset managers have entered China in the past five years, through joint ventures and minority stakes, but most face significant challenges despite the recent high returns.  they are likely to seek alternatives to low-yielding bank accounts, which currently make up almost 79 percent of all personal financial assets (Exhibit 2). Mutual funds are the probable beneficiaries of that change, though they accounted for less than 3 percent of household assets in 2006. To be sure, a large-scale shift will take time: investors in other Asian economies, such as Japan, have taken years to embrace mutual funds. But forces now under way in China—the increasing number of workers preparing for retirement, much-reduced government pensions, creeping inflation, and a booming stock market—have inspired consumers to seek higher returns from their savings.

Inconclusion, I wil like to share this valuable information with you that Foreign Fund managers seeking to enter China face a particularly challenging environment: the most obvious opportunities to partner with domestic securities companies and banks have almost all been taken, and the few remaining strong possibilities are already in advanced discussions with potential partners.

Also, many local companies see little value in a foreign partnership, since they are more experienced than the multinationals in navigating the turbulent waters of China’s stock market and have proved that they can outperform foreign players.....
