Most part of the cost of telecom connectivity is for the local loop for which already a rental is charged. When Internet access is provided on the same local connection, and the cost of additonal devices in the premises is borne by the user, there is no justification for a high amount of additonal rental for internet connectivity. To compensate for the additonal investment by the service provider, charging of about half the monthly rental of telephone service, in addditon may be justified for the time being. As the cost of internet usage become affordable to common man, the business volume will increase multi-fold and the service providers will be the ultimate beneficiary. With that the internet service could be provided to all without additonal cost.
