Ensure participation in social networks a little more meaningful.

Social networking have provided tremendous opportunity for many to much easily express their views, ideas and opinions on matters of common interest in various community websites.

However, a large portion of the participation being of freshers and amateurs, the overall quality tend to suffer in terms of general contents, viewing and reciprocating and healthy discussion on others comments on own postings, expressing views on similar topics of other members, caring to grade the comments of others appropriately as feel fit, by ticking the thumbs up / thumbs down icons etc.

It often gives a feeling that quite a few are interested in casually posting something just for the kick of it as they do not seem to pursue even their own posting any further. Would it not be really nice to make this forum more meaningful and purposeful by ensuring better participation by all, especially by the esteemed new member friends.

I would request esteemed members to post their views on this and also to refer to other members in your community, if you agree with me.

Hello Abraham sir...I am one of the new users of this platform....and I really agree with your post here, and just because people are not understanding the platform are creating a bit a low quality posts and even there is no proper moderation done here..so we are seeing many things on a daily basis where there are posts just for the sake of it...and many esteemed users who have some 1000's of connection are just creating and leaving it at that, and not coming back at all...so if there is a debate there is nothing called as counter argument that is happening here...people are just commenting and leaving and even earlier Ravalli m'am also had posted a question like "why people on Toostep just come and view and not post anything"? so its a valid question and there are few things which needs to be addressed.....

Hi Ms Sayali, I appreciate your way of expressing views briefly in few words.
However, I would suggest you to please also use the option to delete and re-enter your comment with corrections, when you find there are many simple mistakes in your posting.

Thanks for referral, Anupam. & what Mr. Abraham is posting here is very correct.
Manoj already posted the same thing 10 days back & he hardly taking part in any debate.
This should be changed positively.
Or can we request Toostep to introduce negative point system?
Please suggest, FRIENDS!

Yes, you are right. Participation in various debate, asking questions and giving answers broadened our views, gives a lots of knowledge about the world. Everyone is discussing on good things on this site, but we reach some good instructions, views to concerned Govt agencies, departments & ministries it would be more useful.

Mr. Amiya Chaudhury, You are absolutely right. I also ventured at this age to join Toostesp and spent some time with it, only becuse it provide an opportunity to know what is happening around us on various issues within a limited space in an easier and factual way.
The information we get in the TV and print media often reflects doctored or tutored and some times just self serving than factual opinion and ideas of elite class sitting in the glass houses.

Younger generation have opportunities and exposure and participation to much more knowledge and factual experience in the alround advancement of every sphere, Science, technology and entertaintment. In fact we elders learn more from youngsters than what we can give to them, thanks to some of web communities offer really wonderful opportunities fot it.

Web communities like Toosteps with its very open nature, provide good opportunity to know these right from the horses mouth, from the ones who go through and dare to openly put it forth as how they see and experience all these. It is in that context, in spite of its attendant problems being less administered, less moderated and less regulated and predominantly amaturish memberships, I found Toostep very useful.
So let us hope that this young web community with its predominantly younger and vibrant participants will go on impoving as it grows.

dear abraham -are you talking about TOO STEP?
if so than let me clarify too step is not a social network in the first place. TOO STEP as founded is a network for middle and senior professionals, to put across their professional views.
today we have more of freshers,so called free lancers, students, junior executives etc putting up their social views on the network rather than any serious expertise.
the way initially senior professionals used to participate in meaningful debates on too step, today they seem to have withdrawn themselves, which is a loss to such a great platform and its followers.some participate with one word, single sentence agreement or disagreement just to see their points inflating everyday, without making any productive contribution to a serious topic.
this is neither doing good to TOO STEP, NOR to its followers.
let too step not become a social site like facebook or orkut.

Hi Abraham, I am the new user for TooStep and I joined this network to get the expertise of elite group in various area and to share the knowledge that I had based on the experience. But after joining this network, i am seeing the debate topics are neither useful nor giving any value add. Most of the topics are 2 centuries old and even some topics are like asking what is 1+1? 2 or 3. So in that case, the user will give only casual comments and cannot expect any treasure hunt. So my suggession is please refer only the topics that are worthy to discuss and avoid referring unwanted postings. This may reduce the poor quality of the network. But these are common in all networks. So keep networking and have many friends. Amrita, I appreciate your enthu in creating more liks. Keep going.

Amrita thanks for referral.. Mr Abraham I'm agree with you.. Me also new in Too Step and for understanding this site I had taken some time.. There is no help tabs provided from this site owners and I think the new member don't have dare to ask any one for help... Therefor they don't understand the value of discussions which is created by older members, they take some time understanding this forum.. Some times the article posted by any member is not argue by any member because article is not belongs to there interest..

Exactly Mr. Abraham. I expressed my disappointment through various postings as well as I created an Ideate yesterday how can we make this forum more meaningful. Now a days it is noticed that some members who are regular in posting highly valuable debates never ever participates in other debates.. Only very few members are so active here. I know it is a repetition that I am telling this forum that I lost all interest in this great site and I am in search of similar sites to be frank..

Hey Amrita and Abraham...I feel one of the reasons is Everyone wants to be Everywhere thus loosing touch with things which carry on for too long. We also need to look at how different is Too step from other blogs. We can continue to post Better Articles and things will show a change....:)

Thanks, Anita for your referral, I totally agree with Mr Abraham that we need to make this forum more meaningful. As for as moderator is concerned, i think its not that much necessary , even if their are a few active members we will be getting meaningful ideas over here, we can not blame senior members for their in-activeness because everyone has other commitments as well. So lets make it meaningful by ourselves and I am sure our learned members will always be their to guide us when will take initiative. Thanks again to both of you.

I understand your interest to participate and involve in posting articles and reading articles in this too step. Taking it as an challenge n post good articles by ourself instead of waiting others to post. I feel people start to post seeing some grave articles coming in...Take it as sportive and post as much as u can...there wl be a change soon...........
