A European cult that mixes yoga with sex and pornography has been found to be operating out of Chennai.Training nearly 100 youngsters in yoga and 'tantric love' at a rented house in Chokalingam Nagar, Teynampet, for more than two years now, the Movement for Spiritual Integration in Absolute (Misa) is trying to spread across the country. A team of seven Misa teachers, nationals of Denmark and Romania, is now in the city for a special camp, titled 'Tantra — The Path of Love'. A majority of them, including the lead couple Mihai Stoian and Adina Stoian, have starred in porn movies produced by Copenhagen-based production house Sublime Erotica, which the Misa group has close ties with. Misa operates under different names in different countries. It is Natha in Denmark, Tara in the US and Satya in India.

When asked about the videos, Mihai, the 42-year-old Romanian national who heads Misa activities in the absence of Bivolaru, said it was an experiment in spreading the group's philosophy and practice. For many, sexuality stems from desire. We want to spread the message that it is a divine integration of masculinity and femininity to attain spirituality.

The foreigners' regional registration office said that as these people were on visit visas, they are not allowed to teach yoga or do any such job, but the 'teachers' have an argument. "We are only volunteers. The yoga centre is registered under a trust represented by Indians," said Angela Oestergaard, a 35-year-old Danish woman who manages Chennai Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga at Teynampet.

Well all this is actually happening. I just want to inform these foreigners that Indians do need training for any such thing and we have been better tahn them at many things already...

Sublime erotica practiced by Nityananda Swami is a very well factor known. May be this is an extension of what he started there, I believe.

@Kaisar,

"All this happens because we have forgot our true religion."
Do you want me to write how much of sex is happening secretly in the arab world where religion is remembered left and right? On one side you stone to death ordinary women who are unable to defend, accusing them of adultery BUT on the other hand arab world imports tonnes of european blondes for sex - Double standards at its best!

All this happens because we have forgot our true religion. Each and every major religion preaches that there is one God and all such rubbish activities are prohibited. We must follow one's own religion through sacred scriptures and even comparatively i.e., each religion preaches that there is one God and Mohammad (peace be upon him) is the messenger of God, Idol worship is prohibited etc. After that we will not be mislead.

Its pretty astonishing that such a practice is being carried out in the Indian soil. Rather than throwing the blame on a single culture I would criticize people of both countries supporting this. Yoga which has been brought to the world by us should be known to all the Indians who sit in those class that yoga is not a medium to know about love and sexual affairs. I do accept with European culture that love and sex are not things to shy upon or looked as bad for young as many Indians do blindly, believing that its against our culture. The ancient Indian people's version of sex and love was truly good and mature but it is not the same now and the foreign people take advantage of this damn situation and teach us back the same thing in a wrong way. Plz realize that yoga could not only be pertained to know about love & sex, its about knowing yourself, the world and spirituality and relishing it. Love & sex is an important area in art of living but perfecting it in the name of classes is completely commendable as you don require classes for it. you learn about it as you cross each stage of life. And I hope people do realize the stupidity of the classes and don't fall for it. Enjoy life with love & sex. Do yoga and enjoy the worth of life and spirituality. Do not merge them in the name of teaching love.

@Raju,

"Lakshmi devi photo on models bikini in a fashion week in Australia". What have you got to tell about this? This is a bigger violation than the one of MF Hussain because the goddess is pictured right on the butt of the models AND you don't consider this as violation - shame? See - how Aussies got out of this? They just called the concerned people.....gave a small packet-:).....and told "forgive us brother".

I can give you many more examples like this.

The moral of the story is "if you have money and muscle power EVEN god can be bought IN India" and the whole of toostep spits venom on Hussain. I am not justifying what Hussain did BUT when you start finger pointing, you should be bold, wise and impartial enough to point at everything that was violated - no double standards please!

"Eloida has not denied that sex is not practised in that school. I am reproducing her comments: "I have been studying yoga and tantra in this school for 9 years " which is self-explanatory." -
I will accept that tantra is "sex". I accept that this as my inability to properly understand it. Agreed. You are right on this.

"And on the other hand, you are alleging that Rajneesh was asked to pay a hefty sum which he refused and so he had to leave India" - Every thing in India is based on corruption, I do not have the documents with me to prove some three to four decade old stuff. In that case you too need to produce evidence for what you have written.

"And the same with Hussain (who had the audacity to paint the Hindu Goddesses the way he did). Can you please give any evidence for this?" Plenty of these kind of cases were hushed up WITH MONEY. How can you prove that it is not the case. There are plenty of cases where sacredness of hindu gods have been violated and these cases were closed using "MONEY". You are now using "double standards". For some people violation is agreeable and for some others it is not - that kind of attitude is not good for a healthy democracy.

"And I do not know whether to laugh or cry when you say that India is a big sorry and if all the laws of India are enforced then half of India will be in jail. "
That is your problem.

@Raju - To answer Raju's comments:

a)."There are many laws in India which say that sex between unrelated persons are punishable."
Like this, there are so many laws....how many are punished?. If you implement this law strictly, half of India will be in jail, yes about 60 crore people.

b)."If the article referred by Darshana is true, why is the Government not taking action under these laws?"
Do you have evidence?

c)."And Elodia indirectly seems to be accepting that their group is indeed mixing sex with yoga."
How did you conclude this?

d).This is a sorry state of affairs.
India is big SORRY.

e).True Osho, Nityananda, Premananda and others did promote sex. Action was taken on them.
How many are in jail for life????

f).Infact Rajneesh had to go abroad instead of being in India.
He had to go because he refused to pay. It is some thing like MF Hussains case....where he disrespected the moral police plus the amount suggested by moral police commissioner was not acceptable to Rajneesh.

g).In today's society, this does not seem to be acceptable.
Who decides that this is NOT acceptable. who gave the moral policing power to whom? then, why have we framed these laws and constitution.....for a joke?

Dear Elodia Thallon,

I do not know whether you are right or your opponents are right - I cannot believe anything without proper evidence. But I am confident in saying this, that "Indians are true hypocrites". The amount of martial, pre-martial etc etc type of sex is far more you can even imagine. You europeans are nothing compared to the type of sex, sexual experimentation and sexual violence that happens in India - the society just covers it up. so, what ever morality others speak about indian culture in this forum is "just a big joke". In India - who ever has muscle power is right and all others are wrong.

If you are troubled and harassed by the so called "moral people in india", then it is because you did not pay them. If you pay them these type of negative or positive advertisements about this organization will not happen. If you hear the sentence "our culture is destroyed by these europeans", it means "please pay us some money to keep quite". if some body were to say "weak line between good and bad which ...", this means why are you not paying us?. The sentence "yoga with sex to be avoided. "means "the amount you paid is not enough" and so on...

Regarding the "BKS Krishnamurthy hits out at Ramdev" , isn't it just another part of the smear campaign against Baba Ramdev for speaking out against the trillions of dollars of the ruling party in Swiss banks ? Indians, please watch out. If you behave kiddish, accepting such smear campaigns, you will only remain beggars at the feet of your despotic rulers for many more decades to come. Dear Mr. Venugopal K,
I appreciate your observation and I'd like to add up that, in India, the sex is still a taboo and is not looked broadly upon because of the richest tradition that we have. Nothing wrong in the theory of "Brahamcharya" for a certain age most commonly till the 25th year of a person according to the "Gurukul Parampara" which teaches of self control and determination. But today's context is indeed derogatory where the act is done in a very less age when they are not aware of the actual consequences and are greatly immature indeed. If we collaboratively start looking at present Indian condition we are sure to figure out reforms in almost each citizen, if the cult foreigner is taking advantage then also to some extent we are responsible to be so weak to allow anybody make prank of our cultural and traditional values.

Dear Mr Ardhendu Pal
I donot want to argue about the teaching methods of Swami Ramdev. It may or may not be regular yoga. Now the point of discussion is yoga with sex to be avoided. This limit should be known to our youth. That much sensitive they have to be. Then nobody can cheat them. ok? If a boy and girl are studying in the same school, they can exchange books and their fingers can touch other's. But touching a girl's hip or lip is trespassing - ok?
This is the weak line between good and bad which should be taught to our children by us.

Dear Mr. Venugopal K,
I accept, however as a young generation, to some extent I, do feel the responsibility on me too. The issue you have raised a concern is indeed deeply considerable and is happening trend too. The very cause may be the kind of generation gap wherein the style of intellectualism and lifestyle largely differs and the parents are also to a bit responsible as well for the kind of treatment they get when they grow old, however it is indeed the child psychological behavior and courteousness which one has to learn during his up-bringing. Parents can be the torch bearers but they can't live your life so one has to develop the very attitude by himself. Concerning the problem of choice, there are always three ways that are one yours the other of some other person's and the third one is the right one. We have to make sure that whatever the kids or youth learns that is unbiased and technically very correct then only we can expect our culture and tradition to survive or we must be prepared to witness the death of the values set by great person in the past society. Concerning the kind of yoga this man (Ramdev) teaches is not right according to the traditional type, for the sake of certain publicity or whatever he is not teaching in a proper way as it has to be taught. I have learned that the yoga starts with the chanting of "Gayatri Mantra" and must end with the "Purnatwa Prapti Mantra" to make the cycle of learning and attainment complete and stagnant plus adding to the consistency simultaneously it secures the advancement made like a daily back-up, the puppeteer yogi is not telling this so keeping his innocent and ignorant followers in darkness and incompleteness, might be possible that he too is unaware of this. Now with the introduction of the exotic yoga the situation will worsen and we will loose values and our ethics in a complete jeopardy.
In our Indian culture the very exotic yoga is having a different name that is the Kaamasutra which is indeed a type of yoga for the act of pleasure. However mixing it up with the divine yoga is not acceptable at all and experiments are not allowed in divine yoga because the process was crowned by the "Param yogi" lord Shiv and some of the part is having contributions from lord Vishnu as well, hence the infringement with that is not at all permissible.

Dear Mr Ardhendu Pal,
We cannot stop the 'change' occuring the world every second. But making the change for development is in our hands. Spoiling next generation will definitely experience a tragic end. Nowadays, you can see many parents left out in orphanages. This is one pitiable example of real punishment they have given by the society. Why ? They dont taught their children how we should be affectionate towards our elders. It if reflected by them. But you can see, in many homes, aged grandma and grandfa with their grandchildren enjoying their life. What you plant, that will grow. Thanks for the understanding.

Dear Mr. Venugopal K,
With all due respects you have taken my comment very lightly and haven't thought of hidden emotional turmoil which is very present in my previous comment where I have condemned Ramdev's yoga because of the fact that I have learned yoga properly from Ashram and devoted six years apart from schooling that's why I know that whatever he is doing is just a puppet show and no more than that. If we can accept and propagate that puppet show there is no harm in further insulting it and finish this ancient cultural and traditional aspect of Aryan lifestyle or the Hindu life or Indian essence.
Already our traditional and cultural values are on the verge of death and some are already dead. The time is not far when our married women will leave their "Mangal-Sutra" or every pious and divine objects of "Suhaag", and our children will prefer discos instead of being on a temple on any auspicious occasion. Man this is a greater part which I am seeing from now.
I hope I am clear now.

In what way it comes, it is against our culture. Sex is ancient and biological. But in the name of civilization, will you admit child sex? Like US and other western countries, will you allow your children to become lesbians? Dont mix this seduction in the name or religion and all that. No religion is allowed these mild seduction of noble culture into toilet. One comment I have read is that 'as for it is not affecting us, we wont oppose it'. Will it affect you at once? No. They will erode silently and you will get shocked while seeing your children following this.
It is dominated by the name of art, science and aesthetic sense of things. They aim at younger generation who is not having any aim in their life, wandering to do something worthless as change. Clever youth will escape because they know the limit where our broughtup is crossed. Some youth who failed to earn knowledge and try to earn in short cuts fall as prey to these groups. Parents are the reason for this mistake. Youth cannot mislead by others if they are told what is bad and good by their parents. To glittering money the elders themselves fall and why blame youth? People like Mr Arthendu Pal and Mr Isaac Madhavan are identified inviting such cult as spicy things in life. If they need such spicy change, they can **** their blood *** for a change.ok?

I am a member of this yoga school and I want to tell you that what Darshana Sawant has reported is full of deliberately misleading information and blatant lies. She has taken this information from an article in the Times of India which was part of a defamation campaign to discredit our school by fundamental Hindu extremists and other hidden powers that be. I have been studying yoga and tantra in this school for 9 years and have travelled even to India in this time to visit Satya Yoga and to practice yoga there. All the reports now in the Indian media about Satya yoga and its related schools are made to be sensational and to create a scandal, there is very little truth in what any of these reports say, and I have to say I am sorry to see that the Indian people/media have behaved in such a terrible way. When all that this spiritual school has stood for and is standing for is in the name of divine truth and justice, to see some ignorant people trying to destroy this without even bothering to research to find out what is really going on or even trying to deliberately do so is a very sad state of affairs. From what some of the readers say here I can see that at least there are still some Indians who can see the reality of the issues that Indian society now has with sexuality and the fact that a nation which was once revering sexuality for its sacredness is now steeped in taboo and hypocrisy regarding sexuality. I hope that the few of you who can see through the society imposed hypocrisy will also stand up for the truth and help geuine spirituality to prevail.

As long as they dont insult the public or force any living things to follow their activities, i will say, let them have the time of their life.

A sexy topic indeed! But am really not amused by it. If you still think that Sex is a taboo, then probably you need to reconsider your sexual entities within you. In a land, where kama-sutra originated and its message spread across the world through its recorded tapes of postures etc., I dont think we should be making a fuss about it. But yes, we should raise our voice against illegal sex trade or sex in the name of religion. Such activities just cannot be tolerated.

"It's just human. We all have the jungle inside of us. We all have wants and needs and desires, strange as they may seem. If you stop to think about it, we're all pretty creative, cooking up all these fantasies. it's like a kind of poetry."

Sex is a basic necessity of a human being.AS We can not leave with out air, water, and food similarly can not leave with out sex.I read some where in Hindu Shastra that' Every human consumes food requires sex to LEAVE'.We Indian likes to enjoy sex but can not accept our liking/feeling in front of others.Always and all the time we are protesting against sex scandals of our society members but hiding our sex love feeling in every part of our heart. This is like the case that if we can not enjoy it than we must criticise it.

How can we forget our God KAMDEV and our Kamshastra? It shows that our deep knowledge in Sex and with this we are educating the World also.Posters and Statutes of Ajanta Eloora cleaves clearly shows our art of sex and in directly educating our youth.
Now when a foreigner teaches our technique why we should oppose? The only reason I can predict for this oppose is that we are not in the team of teachers or students?

As mentioned by people, Indians have had very good sex culture in the early ages. There was very little "Taboo". The "Taboo" in terms of sex is from the west. It was a feature that came along with western invasions. Now they want to do away with the "Taboos" regarding sex, but we have been brain washed with the sense that Sex is Bad, etc., etc.

Actual, Indian Culture or "Hindu" culture does never say sex is bad or only 1 man for 1 woman for life, etc., etc.

The west, which was a closed culture for a few thousand years, has opened up with regards to sex in the last century whereas we Indians who were free with regards to sex a few centuries ago have closed to this concept now-a-days.

Thanx for sharing, Darshana. What an interesting piece of news! A fun way to relieve a most basic/natural/instinctive drive and also a seemingly harmless way to make your life more spicy and definitely less boring. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Seriously though, given that the background of the main players is that of pornography, this is indeed quite fishy. It appears that they could be operating a brothel/drug-ring/spy-network within the margin of the law using this as a front.

Then again, it could very well be that these guys are indeed spreading the message of enlightenment through repeated intercourse with multiple partners. Unfortunately, an excellent way of spreading AIDS.

I think India is way ahead in sex culture. Take the case of Ajanta. Ellora and the sculptures is based on sex. So nothing to teach us but still I feel we have lost the way somewhere in between the result is population explosion.

Not only in Hindu myth, you can find it in the Islamic architecture as well, the central Dome signifies the breast of a woman and the tall minarets signifies the male genitals...You can find it in almost all the earlier Pagan religions which flourished during or before the advent of the Abrahamic religions...:)

Sex has always been part and parcel of Hindu mythology - Temples of Lord Shiva is a depiction of Copulation - Shiva & Shakti. Besides this our rishis have explored the subject in details and there have been proponents who have studied, researched and written a shastra - i.e. - Kaamsutra, which is not a book on carnal pleasure but a scientific and systematic depiction of sex. And the sexual libralisation of west is very new as compared to India where even temples exist depicting entire cycle, that have been subject of study of laureates like Swami Vivekananda.

The west is rather encashing - selling the sex and these cults are no more than that.

surprising article!! i dont really believe that such activities are taking place in INDIA?? HELL!!
People including women passionately talking about sex openly these days . It is good as long as it is confined to our personal bed room. Extension of it leads to problems. Having safe sex even betraying the spouse seems to be ethical for them. I am very sorry, I can accept it.

It is time we accepted sex with openness. As long as the participants are responsible adults , and as long as the terms of participation are known to all and accepted by them , I don't see what is wrong.

This is far better than having brothels which operate under the facade of massage parlours.

With a lot of schools having started sex education in higher classes , the younger generation is far more comfortable with sex than earlier generations. This is all for the good.
What is the use of it, I dont understand. Does it has any meaning. It just a shit. What they are trying to Promote some shit in some kind of acceptable way. Will it be acceptable. I am surprised by some of the opinions of my friends here. We are unable to understand what is moral and immoral, ethical and unethical.

Many in the Western world wrongly consider the Kama Sutra to be a manual for tantric sex. While sexual practices do exist within the very wide tradition of Hindu Tantra, the Kama Sutra is not a Tantric text, and does not touch upon any of the sexual rites associated with some forms of Tantric practice.

Vatsyana's Kama Sutra is a scientific depiction of sexual life of human being. Its not just porn shit.

No need to be shocked, just ask your inner self, what is harm in having sex until and unless it is safe, they are not indulging in human trafficking unlike Babas and Sadhus in India are involved with. It is time to accept that sex is not a taboo anymore, rather it is a reawakening of the sub-conscious mind. We need to think deep about this. If Osho would have been alive, he would have certainly given a nod to it...:)

I will say,"not acceptable". But, you had religious leaders in India like OSHO, Rajineesh; Premananada; Nithiyananda etc. These are the culprits inroad to these kind of extravaganza in the name of Yoga. Nudism is acceptable in Denmark, Sweden but not in India. Business percolate in the name of spirituality & divinity for which Indians are the commodities, at present I think.

Make love, not war, goes an old saying,I don't see what's the harm in having or rather fulfilling one of your 'basic' needs(according to psychologists) with no coercion, force or inducement. We are so paranoid about such matters and behave in such puerile, puritanical way that it is embarassing. As long as there is no illegal activity going on,which is clearly defined in IPC,CrPC etc I just don't see what's the point of contention,or are we jealous and envious that 'others' are having fun and we haven't been invited to the party? In the land, which gave the world Kamasutra and depicted the same on Holy temples, why do we go apoplectic and be more puritanical than even the 'Victorian' era stuffed shirts?

Its a commercialized extension of Acharya Jagdeesh - if we can digest his teachings, why not gulp this one?
We are pseudo nationalists - we accept all the dirt born within our society but get alarmed whenever there are activities which have foreign intrusions - whether Pakistani, Swiss, Denmark or whatever.

i read this in the newspaper today morning and i was shocked at our society. even if the authorities did not know anything about it, why were the locals quiet about the operation for so long. i think we must keep our eyes and ears open and report any such untoward activities in our neighborhood

Sublime erotica practiced by Nityananda Swami is a very well factor known. May be this is an extension of what he started there, I believe.
