Everybody who wanted to see how the new Google phone looks like, This is the first real pic which we have got after a very long time and at last the Google phone has appeared. Forget the Droid, the G1 and all those other Android wannabees. Google will begin to sell its own reference Android 2.1 handset, designed by Google, made by hardware partner HTC, and is fondly called the Nexus One. The phone will be sold online by Google itself.

The Nexus One will, crucially, be sold unlocked, giving Google complete control over the hardware and software with no pesky carrier interference. Even the iPhone, which has had almost unprecedented autonomy in its functionality but then later on had problems with AT&T.

Although not yet officially announced, Google has admitted that the phone is real and will be on sale early in the new year might be in january. In fact, it has provided the handset to its employees in order to test it out in the real world.

And in one popular blog it is said that  “Google Phone = iPhone + a little extra screen and a scroll wheel. Great touch screen, and Android”.

All you iphone users now start to see some real competition from Google phone. And also would like to ask users whether Google phone can also create the same impact as iphone did it for Apple. Do share your views guys.

The phone looks okay, but then we have to wait till january when the phone launches and check out the reviews and then I guess one can decide whether it can be really successfull as iphone or not. Even I use iphone and I think it works really well the UI is really cool and supports many applications which are really usefull. Lets see how Google phone with its android OS fares against iphone :)

There were rumors spreading around about a "Google Phone " and i still believe this isn't it .Agreed that they have given this to their employees first and plans to launch it ?? but why couldn't have they done this when the very first G1 by HTC was released?

an obvious answer is that the hardware and software / android 2.0 ,(apps like voice based ,google navigation, google latitude etc...)were not that mature enough and this brings to us to an interesting point,

Is Google looking to redefine the very thing called a mobile phone ??

Good to see the pic of Googel phone.

Irrespective of whether it will be successful or not, it will create lot of excitement, for sure.

What I liked the most is "The Nexus One will, crucially, be sold unlocked, giving Google complete control over the hardware and software with no pesky carrier interference"!!! Thnak you Sonam for referring this.

Based on what has been written about the android os, I'm thinking it will be successful. motorola too has products (droid and cliq, may be more running android).

Lets see if it gives iphone a run for its money [personally I feel it wont make a difference to apple, I'm not an apple customer ;)].
