Do you know that financial sector is main user of mainframe technology, and IBM is trying to capture this by Z9 integrated information processor (zIIP).
With this zIIP we can improve business resiliency, workload management, hubs for data and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
Features of zIIP :
1) Run eligible database workloads
2) Help free up general computing capacity.
3) Enables data to be centralized better on the mainframe.
4) Minimize the need to maintain duplicate copies of the data
5) Better security between the applications and the data.
When Data will be centralized, Multiple copies of data will not be generated across diverse systems .
Also, the zIIP improves portfolio of data management capabilities that stem from deep data and transaction processing.
zIIp also provides trusted security context database roles, better auditing capabilities, improved encryption for security, fast table replacement, partition by growth and SQL improvements
So, IBM has really done a good job by introducing zIIP in terms of maintaining Mainframe Security .
